Get ready for photo overload. Lori and Matt’s wedding is easily one of my favorites this year. I’ve been anxiously looking forward to their wedding for well over a year. Everything about them rocks – their awesome unique individual styles, their matching pizza tattoos, love for their hairless cats, hilarious personalities, and their special love. All day Matt kept remarking about how lucky he was and how beautiful Lori looked, and Lori had a smile that just wouldn’t fade. I knew it would be an awesome day from the start. Now add onto that a ton of things that this photographer loves: a ridiculously gorgeous wedding gown, fabulously unique shoes, a killer sunset, and awesome friends and family that made the day a blast from beginning to end. I even got to see two former Photography by Brea couples at their wedding! It was an awesome day.
I feel like I’d be doing the blog readers a disservice to not share their love story as told by Matt. I enjoy it too much to keep to myself.
“When Matt moved to Baltimore, Kara (sister of best man) kept mentioning that she had a friend named Lori who was single and thought would get along with Matt. Hence the fetching blonde was pinging heavily on Matt’s radar when they first crossed paths at the birthday party of Kara Preston. He played it cool, she was impressed with the fine handmade jello shots Matt had provided for the party. Later that fall, after some online chatting, they went on their first date. The date was lovely, however timing was not on the couple’s side. Matt was traveling for work, and things just did not pan out. The couple lost touch, and Matt moved to Vegas the following spring in search of the American dream. He packed his Subaru with Acapulco shirts and a tape recorder for special music, and headed for the desert. His online photos living the high life seemed to pique Lori’s interest, and she reached out to Matt and the two began chatting again.
After a couple months of increasingly intimate chatting, the two realized they might have a connection. Matt had some frequent flyer miles, and offered to fly Lori out to Vegas for a weekend. Just one and a half weeks before the planned weekend, Matt lost his job in Vegas and drove back to Baltimore. Lori was happy to see Matt at home, however they were met with the dilemma of the upcoming trip; would it be crazy to go on vacation with somebody with whom you’d only been on a couple of dates with? They decided to pull the trigger on the Vegas trip, and the rest is history.”
Lori and Matt, I’ve loved getting to know you guys and hope that this is only the beginning of our friendship! It was truly an honor to capture your big day and be by your side to witness the beginning of your marriage. I hope you’re having a blast in Riviera Mayonnaise! xoxo
