Sarah and Ryan’s wedding at The Belvedere was not only gorgeous but near and dear to my heart. I’ve known these two for a long time, and I am so excited I could be part of their special day.
The Couple
Sarah and Ryan met in August of 2010 when Sarah went into the Apple store to start her first shift. Arriving almost half an hour early due to nerves, she looked a bit lost, and Ryan quickly approached her asking if she needed help. She told him that she was there for training and he said to have a seat and that “he’d be with her.” Everyone knows that “be right with you” at Apple means in 30 minutes!
Every shift from then on out, Sarah made it a point to talk to Ryan (a lot). Several weeks went by working together, and Ryan eventually asked Sarah for her number. They had their first date at DeSantis in Perry Hall. After enthusiastically agreeing to a second date (and then successfully reminding him that they were supposed to go on it), fast forward many many dates later, and Sarah accidentally found herself playing detective. She discovered Ryan at her parents’ house using Find My Friends when he was prepping to ask the big question. I love the funny happenstances that led to these two getting together!
Our History
Part of why this wedding was so special for me is because of the history I have with these two. Unlike Sarah, I don’t remember the exact moment that I met Ryan, but it was also at the Apple Store working together. What I do remember is all of the times that he made me feel like I mattered. Ryan has a way of doing that. Fast forward a few years, and I met his girlfriend Sarah at a wedding I was photographing where she was a bridesmaid. She is a lovable, charismatic, ball of energy and I adored her immediately. It was so fun for me to put the puzzle pieces together and meet Ryan’s other half. I managed to photograph Sarah at another wedding (this time as Maid of Honor for her best friend, Megan) and at that point, little did I know Ryan was planning to ask Sarah to marry him in just a few short weeks! (Ryan, you punk, I would’ve kept it secret if you told me!) It wasn’t long after that we started talking about yet another wedding I’d be photographing featuring Sarah, only this time as the bride. I have been looking forward to kicking off 2017 with a wedding of two wonderful friends and it absolutely did not disappoint!
The Wedding
Sarah and Ryan’s beautiful wedding at the Belvedere warmed up what turned out to be a ridiculously cold day. Sarah wanted a classic, glam wedding, and it was perfectly that. Not to mention how freaking gorgeous she is! Their ceremony was officiated by our “Best Friend Mike,” a fellow coworker from Apple. Sarah and Ryan wrote and shared their own vows, which were just completely them and perfectly showcased their love for each other. It was such an exciting and heartwarming day. Seeing everyone from Apple (and even making an appearance in a group photo!) was really special, and I so thoroughly enjoyed watching Sarah and Ryan interact with the people they care about most. For example, Ryan’s relationship with his nieces completely melted my heart! There was joy written on everyone’s faces all day long, and it was truly incredible to see.
Sarah and Ryan, thank you so much for choosing me to capture this amazing day for you. I’m so thankful for the time we’ve spent together and I hope it doesn’t stop here.

[…] a trip to Australia and Hawaii in December, holidays spent with the people we love, the weddings of three wonderful couples, and then a quick trip to Vermont to snowboard and visit family. So sorry, but […]
