Earlier this year I had my first foray into band photography thanks to the guys from Here’s to the Night, a local 90s cover band. Their first shoot involved an all girl’s boarding school, basketball uniforms and an overall ridiculous feel. Danny even told me their goal is to make each shoot more and more ridiculous and to push me out of my comfort zone of romantic couples’ shoots and beautiful weddings. Well, mission accomplished, once again!
This time, we met at the venue for the most recent Maryland Championship Wrestling event, and were able to use the entrance ramp and ring for photos. Why a wrestling ring? Well this time it wasn’t just the guys from Here’s to the Night in front of my camera. This time, The New Romance, an 80s cover band was there too. These photos are to promote their upcoming Clash of the Decades show at the Fillmore in January.
If you’re looking for a fun way to spend a cold winter evening, buy tickets to the event, hosting by Biz Markie!
The fun part was that we had one hour to set up, shoot, break down and set up for the second location, shoot, and break down completely for the wrestlers to get into the ring and practice before their show. It was a bit of a time crunch, and we finished packing up right at the one hour mark, but we rocked it out!
Just like last time, we did individuals of each guy, but we did each guy from each band, so I’m only using a sampling here. Love the Sonic shirt, Danny.
This was probably my favorite of the bunch.
Then group shots for each band.
And the promo shot for the event. Clash of the decades.
Thanks guys for choosing me to be a part of this crazy shoot! Can’t wait to see what you come up with for the next one.
Um. I so wish I didn’t have a wedding that night because that concert sounds awesome and these photos just prove it is going to be epic!!! So awesome, chica!
