I’ve known Andrew since 2008. We worked together at the Apple store in Towson, and that whole group really felt like one big family. Even though I haven’t worked there in over two years I still keep in touch with several of the people I worked with back then and care about them deeply! Although we were friends and had hung out outside of work a few times, I hadn’t met Andrew’s girlfriend Jackie but I had heard from everyone that she was the sweetest girl ever and that they were the perfect couple. When they got engaged I pounced right on the Facebook posts to be one of the first to congratulate them! I was so excited that another one of my Apple friends was coming over to the dark side… the married side ;)
A couple of weeks later, Andrew sent me a message with several questions about destination weddings since we had one and they are planning one and asked me to do their engagement photos! Fast forward a couple of months and here we are, blog post time!
I knew from the emails we had back and forth (and the things I’ve heard about her from our mutual friend Jess) that Jackie was fun and I would love her! Turns out I was absolutely right. She’s so adorable and hilarious! Not to mention that the love between these two just radiates off of them. Seriously. I didn’t have to direct them during this shoot at all. I’d tell them where to stand and that was about that. They were perfectly in their own little worlds, wrapped up in each other, which is evident in these photos.
We started the session in Hampden at the lovely hour of, oh, too early. But it was completely worth it! Andrew proposed to Jackie right outside of Grano when they exchanged gifts for their anniversary. When Jackie opened her gift she saw a canvas of an audio waveform. But it wasn’t just any audio waveform, it was the waveform of Andrew’s voice saying “Jackie, will you marry me?” Amazing right? And incredibly appropriate for them since they are both very into music and he’s an audio guy! I love that they’ll have this memento to remember the moment forever!
We continued to walk around Hampden and we found this awesome “LOVE” painting above the Bikram yoga studio. So of course I made them stand on the corner across the street and got the shot. This was one of many times I was standing out in the middle of the street. Another plus side to the early morning session. You can do that without worrying about getting hit by a car… too much.
Look at that smile! Seriously, how cute are they?
Then we hopped in the car for a quick drive to the Cylburn Arboretum to round off the session. The light was absolutely incredible and I got some of my favorite shots here.
Jackie is too gorgeous. Just look at her.
