Justin + Sarah | Ostertag Vistas Wedding

May 29, 2013 Justin + Sarah | Ostertag Vistas Wedding

This past Sunday Sarah and Justin got married at the gorgeous Ostertag Vistas Farm in Myersville, MD. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day and the temperatures were perfect. It was so exciting for me to see this wedding come together as Sarah had talked with me a lot about her plans along the way. I knew it’d be awesome but it truly exceeded my expectations. Oh, and can I just say, best reception food ever? Seriously. They had P.I.G.S. cater the reception and it was the best meal I’ve had in months.

Justin and Sarah met three years ago at the bar where she was bartending. They hit it off immediately and he asked for her number. Over the next week she was freaking out wondering why the hell this guy hadn’t called her yet… when meanwhile his best friend (and best man at the wedding) told him that he had to wait at least a week to call. At the end of the one week he did call and the rest is history.

Thanks to Kate Ann Photography for helping me out for the day. A few of her images are featured throughout this post.

Sarah’s dress was perfect for her. I also love that her “something blue” was a pendant on her dress with her grandfather’s ashes.

Sarah made all of the flowers for the wedding except her bouquet, that was made by her sister’s girlfriend and was a surprise until the wedding day.

Their invitations and wedding monogram were designed by Sameeha from The Inked Leaf. I love how she put a cute and classy spin on a hunting theme.

How awesome is Justin’s wedding attire? Gotta love a laid-back, country wedding. I’m also loving his belt buckle.

Sarah’s sister did her hair and makeup for the wedding and she looked truly stunning.

The ceremony was truly lovely and caused the couple and guests to both laugh and cry. Happy tears of course!

Post ceremony, we grabbed the bridal party, got some photos with the kids, and then hopped a “people mover” which is a fancy term for a large golf cart and went to go hang out in the woods.

Sarah made the bridesmaids’ bouquets, flower girl dress and boutonnieres. It’s amazing how much she did and how awesome it all turned out.

The light in the woods was gorgeous and I love this whole set.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen split after a little while and much to Justin’s dismay, it was time for more pictures. I have to give it to him though, for not being a fan of having his photo taken, he was a trooper.

I am in love with all of these by the willow tree. I definitely want one as a canvas for my new office, I just don’t know which!

The reception details were all totally amazing. In lieu of a guestbook, Sarah is going to make a quilt of fabric squares signed by and drawn on by their wedding guests.

During the cocktail hour they had a popcorn bar!

All of the centerpieces were made by Sarah. She’s so amazingly crafty. I’ve been saying for months that she should start an etsy shop. This just confirms it. Her uncle made the table numbers and the chest for the quilt squares.

Isn’t Ostertag such a stunning venue?

Yep, the place cards are in shotgun shells. ;)

I absolutely loved the setup for the sweetheart table. So gorgeous.

The folks at Ostertag had a model railroad set up going throughout the venue.

Best cake topper ever? Most likely.

They played the shoe game, but instead of using shoes, they used cut outs of their heads. This was HYSTERICAL.

Justin and Sarah, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your wedding day. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you over the last several months and I love you both and wish you nothing but the best.

Everything about this wedding is awesome! But the decor seriously puts it over the top; it makes me want to cry in the best way possible. Beautiful, genuine, rustic, heartfelt wedding ambiance–megalove! Also, I want one of those belt buckles.

Best outdoor wedding and Sarah should be a wedding planner. Perfection is what she is! You should always be the photographer. You captured it all and I was so happy to see all the things I missed!

I am looking at this venue and have some questions. Possibly if there is a way to contact Sarah, if that is not too much to ask. I live in NJ and am willing to travel. It looks online to be the exact wedding I picture in my head. I hope to hear back from the venue. I emailed them last Friday..nothing yet.
