As a wedding photographer I meet lots of couples. I’ve photographed weddings of high school sweethearts, weddings of couples who had met only a few months prior, and even one couple who had been together as long as I’ve been alive. Erin and Brian, however, are my first middle school sweethearts… that’s right. They started dating in the 6th grade. How amazing is that? Their wedding was also a true testament to how amazing these two people are. They had friends from elementary school through college at their wedding and it was truly impressive how many people showed up from many different times in their lives to support them in their marriage.
Brian and Erin had an incredibly beautiful wedding day. We had the threat of rain literally all day long, 80% chance at some times, and it held off for us… that is, until the perfect moment.
But you’ll see that later!
I started my morning off with Erin and the girls at her home. I love that I was able to use her beautiful lace wedding gown as a backdrop for many of these detail shots.
Brian wrote Erin a very sweet letter to accompany her wedding gift, a pair of beautiful diamond earrings. While I was at the house with the girls, Jen was with Brian and the guys. We were afraid of the possibility of rain, so she took them outside for some shots before it hit. There couple was wed in a beautiful ceremony at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church. After a few family formals and bridal party photographs at St. Bernadette’s we headed to Michael’s on South River. The room was decorated with style and class. The simple white linens with the damask pattern were beautiful without being overdone. Each table had a different frame for the table number and different flowers! It was gorgeous! And you know I’m obsessed with their cake topper- because… obviously, CATS!
When we got out to the dock it was perfect out- just slightly overcast so we got beautiful soft light and gorgeous clouds in the sky. They were such a fun group! I had a BLAST at their reception and much of it had to do with these awesome people! Such beauties! The guys all got watches as their gift from Brian. Gotta love this. Then it was time for photos of just the lovely couple. I love how all of these turned out. I love this one! Erin made such a stunning bride. I loved everything about her bridal look. Erin and Brian entered the reception to a very excited room and went straight into their first dance. Before dinner we had three memorable and hilarious speeches, from the father of the bride, best man and matron of honor. After dinner the party was kicked off by very sweet parent dances. And of course we had to get a photo of them with their mini-me’s!Then it was party time! And PARTY they did! Part way through the evening, I took Brian and Erin out for some night shots on the docks. I loved how they were turning out with the stars in the sky and the lights reflected in the water. And then as we were about to leave, it started to rain. I threw them my flash umbrella and begged for a few extra shots. It rained for no more than a minute and I couldn’t be more thrilled!!! As soon as we got these shot we headed back and the rain stopped. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
When we got back, the DJ totally brought his A-game and it was crazy high energy for the rest of the night.
Erin and Brian, you guys are incredible and I wish you a lifetime of happiness. Your wedding day was so beautiful and I’m so happy I was able to be a part of it!
