Our session with Natalie Franke!

July 7, 2014

Personal

Last month, Steve and I got up early and met Natalie Franke bright and early at Clipper Mill in Baltimore for an updated session of the two of us and for me to get some new head shots. The head shots are in place all over my website and facebook page, and I’m so excited to share a few of my favorites of Steve and me!

In just a few months, we will have been married for 3 years. It may seem like a weird time to have photos done, but I really like to do this as often as possible. Steve and I are not the “selfie” types. I’m actually notoriously bad at documenting my own life. I have very few photos of myself with my best friends… and Steve and I basically just have those that are taken professionally. We change so much from year to year and I love being able to document that. Especially since we don’t take photos of ourselves very often, I think it’s very important that we get photos done very regularly.

I also love that each year I get to work with more and more talented photographers and collect the work of all of my faves. We have our engagement session, wedding and trash the dress session with Jen. A session that we did last year in San Diego with Melissa McClure on the anniversary of the day my parents met, at the place that they got married! And now this session with Natalie! I have so many talented photographer friends and my hope is to eventually be able to collect the work of all of them!

I’ve been a fan of Natalie’s work since I first started doing photography YEARS ago. When we finally met in person earlier this year, I knew that I wanted to ask her to photograph us. Thankfully she was up for it! I also picked a location that wasn’t very “Natalie” (i.e. no boats) because I thought it’d be fun to do something a little out of her comfort zone and challenge her a bit creatively. I know, I’m evil, but these are amazing!! So clearly I was onto something :) View More: http://nataliefranke.pass.us/brea-steve-clipper-mill But then of course we show up, and there’s a boat. It’s a sign. I’m obsessed with it now.
