I have been looking forward to this wedding for what feels like forever. Sarah and David are such fun people and incredible parents. They have the most adorable son together, “Little David”, and Sarah is such an amazing step-mom to David’s son Eli. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing them and their beautiful family on separate occasions leading up to their wedding for both their engagement session and family session – and I was so excited to get to do it again!
Sarah is a wedding and event planner and she could have picked any photographer, but she picked me. What an incredible honor and also a lot of pressure! Working in the wedding industry and being a bride as well, I’m sure leads to super high standards. Everything on their wedding day went beautifully and I’m so excited that I was able to capture it! This blog post is filled with so much pretty– but more importantly, so much love.
Normally I do my blog posts chronologically but I have things a bit mixed up in here for the sake of flow. I actually started my day off with David and the groomsmen for some group shots but you’ll see those later. After I met with them, I headed to the hotel room to get started photographing the details!
Sarah wore her grandmother’s rings and had her necklace adorned to her bouquet.
One of my favorite moments of their wedding day was seeing Sarah’s reaction to seeing her boys and her dad for the first time on her wedding day!
The ceremony out on the beach was so beautiful! They had a table set up for the sand ceremony, which also had mini jars of sand representing their two sons.
I love the programs!
How perfect is this quote?
The sand ceremony was so sweet- I love that they combined sands representing all four of them.
Once Little David got started he didn’t want to stop, he had to completely empty all of the jars!
MARRIED!
I love all of these bridal party shots! The groomsmen photos were from earlier in the day, we even hit up Obie’s bar on the boardwalk!
After the family and bridal party photos I got some time to explore with Sarah and David – I love everything we got.
So gorgeous, Sarah!
I love her laugh on the left!
LOVE
The reception was on the 8th floor of the Henlopen Hotel at Salero on the Beach. The room was decorated in the most appropriate and gorgeous nautical theme.
Before introductions the bridal party had a champagne toast!
To kick off the reception – Sarah and David shared their first dance, followed by a welcome by Sarah’s dad and a blessing by their officiant.
Right before the dinner service started, I figured we should try to get a good family photo of the four of them. We had planned on doing it earlier during the family formals but the kids were cranky, so it was decided to do it later– while they were waiting to be introduced, Little David got into the hors d’oeuvres and got sauce all down the front of his white shirt. We didn’t get a chance to go outside and get the perfect, posed, natural light family photo of everyone sitting perfectly and looking at the camera– but what we did get is beautiful. We captured real life, and their real joy. Real life isn’t always ‘picture perfect’ but it sure is beautiful. This whole series just melts my heart. How beautiful is this little family!?
After dinner, Sarah and David’s siblings gave hilarious and heartwarming speeches, followed by parent dances and the opening of the dance floor!
Before heading out I was able to snag Sarah and David for a few final photos – and I’m so glad we did!
Sarah + David, I had a blast being a part of your big day! I wish you all nothing but happiness in your lives together and hope to get your beautiful family in front of my camera again soon :)
xoxo,
Brea
