Ever since their engagement session in May, I’ve been incredibly excited for Sonya and Robbie’s wedding day. Their engagement session was a blast and still remains one of my favorites of all time. I knew their wedding would be a special day, and it most certainly did not disappoint. They had family and friends travel from Connecticut, Kentucky and even as far as Poland to celebrate with them! During their ceremony, the officiant told the story of this unlikely pair. Sonya, a Connecticut girl from a Polish immigrant family, and Robbie, a southern gentleman from Kentucky. They met while at a conference in DC for political science students while in their senior year of college. At the end of the two week conference, Robbie wrote Sonya a love letter, and they stayed in touch. About a year later, they decided to start dating. After doing the long distance thing for a while and traveling back and forth from Connecticut and Kentucky, Sonya moved to Kentucky while they applied to law schools. They ended up in Baltimore where they could attend different schools so they wouldn’t need to compete against each other, but still live together. If it wasn’t for that conference, their paths may have never crossed. This is one of those times where I can’t help but think that everything happens for a reason, because I can’t imagine a pair better suited for each other than these two.
The Anchor Inn was the perfect backdrop to celebrate their vows. A beautiful water view, perfect weather, and the most gorgeous florals by My Flower Box – it was the perfect nautical romantic wedding. We went to Downs Park in Pasadena for their first look and some variety for their portraits and bridal party photos, and were able to get a mix of daylight, sunset and night shots on the water at the Anchor Inn. Jordan with Event Pro DJ brought the party and the dance floor was packed the whole night! Such an awesome day and I’m so excited to share a few of my favorites from their day on the blog!
