August 19, 2020 Robin + Billy | Caboose Farm Wedding Photos | Thurmont, MD

I had unreasonably high expectations for Robin and Billy‘s Caboose Farm Wedding. And yet, every. single. thing. about this day exceeded my expectations. So excited to share the highlights on the blog today!

The Couple

From the bride: “Billy and I met at auditions for Into the Woods in Frederick, MD. We became close friends throughout those couple months of rehearsal, talking every day. After the show’s run ended, we stayed close. We helped each other through some rough times, and realized we were very much in love! We knew there was something very special about our relationship that neither one of us had ever felt before and we quickly knew that neither one of us ever wanted to let this go.

“After about a year and a half of dating, Billy proposed, though it was no shock to me. Billy and I went to breakfast at our favorite spot in Frederick and had planned to go for a walk by the C&O canal with our dog, Ned (as we frequently did). But that day Billy was acting really strange and I knew it had to be the day. We started to drive over to White’s Ferry and I saw an outline of a square box in his right pocket. Then, I saw our friend, Grace, with her camera, obviously looking for our car. After we got out of the car and we started walking with Ned. Without fail, Ned decided to poop right before Billy got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Neither one of us really remember what he said and he was tripping over his words a lot, but I said yes and it was perfect.”

The Wedding

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding probably the most of my 2020 weddings. I try not to pick favorites, but it’s really hard to meet Robin and Billy and not fall in love with them both individually and as a couple. They both shine with love and goodness, and their relationship amplifies that beautiful shine. During my initial meeting with them, they were both falling all over themselves with love for the other person and my heart was so full when they left. The afterglow from their visit lasted well into the next day. We would all be so lucky to find a love like Robin and Billy’s.

Robin and Billy’s wedding was another of our 2020 weddings that was impacted by COVID multiple times. First, they had to reschedule from May to August. And then as August got closer, they realized they needed to drastically reimagine their day. What I loved most about this was that they still kept their venue and the original scope of the wedding. They just reduced the guest list, removed the dance floor, and embraced the intimate nature of the day. There were so many unique touches and so, so much love. Robin and Billy’s vows were some of the most personal and beautiful vows I’ve ever witnessed and I love that they said them to each other while pinky promising. Robin’s two piece gown from Lace and Liberty bridal had the perfect pop of color and was perfectly Robin. We got to play with light sabers and I got IN the creek for some of the photos. It was so much fun spending the day with these two and capturing everything as they embark on this new chapter together. Here are some of my favorites.
