This weekend, Peter and Patrice finally had their wedding celebration – a year exactly to the day since their backyard wedding last year! The Baltimore Museum of Industry was the perfect backdrop for this awesome party.
The Couple
From the couple: “We met online (OKCupid) about 6 years ago. Pete had to be persistent in getting Patrice’s attention, but it finally led to a first date at Sugarvale in Baltimore city. We moved in together in January, 2019. It took some time for our animals, Patrice’s dog Tuxie and Pete’s cat Socks, to get used to new arrangement. We got engaged on Oct 31, 2020 in a creepy cabin in Shenandoah National Park. After a day of hiking and whiskey tasting, Pete proposed over a game of Scrabble later that night at the cabin. We weren’t sure where the Covid pandemic might take us, so we decided not to wait to get married and planned a fairly impromptu intimate backyard wedding on May 14, 2021. The wedding was held at Patrice’s sister and brother-in-law’s gorgeous house. A year later, we’re able to celebrate our wedding with all of our loved ones!”
The Wedding
My favorite part of two-part weddings is that I get to meet everyone before the big celebration. Last year, I photographed Peter and Patrice’s elopement and got to meet their siblings, parents, and Grandma Eileen. This year, it was so much fun seeing everyone again! Saturday was quite rainy so we did most everything inside- portraits, ceremony, etc. And then right after cocktail hour was over, the rain stopped, and we were treated to a gorgeous rainbow – at its most vibrant during their first dance. It was quite magical! All in all, it was the perfect night to celebrate Peter and Patrice. Here are some of my favorites.
