Lisa and Mike were married this past Sunday at Linganore Winecellars. Even with the rain, it was an absolutely perfect day.

The Couple

Like most modern couples, Lisa and Mike met online. Before they met for the first time they texted almost every day. Lisa appreciated when Mike would ask how her day was and seemed genuinely interested in the answer. “Our first date was at Light City at the Baltimore Inner Harbor; we walked around and ended up at Little Havana to have a drink before going home. Mike wasn’t sure if Lisa liked him at first because she seemed annoyed. In reality Lisa was nervous and wanted to show him a fun time, but the festival was not as interesting as she thought. But we stayed in touch and went on a few more dates, including one on the roof of the science center looking through their telescope. Lisa knew from date 4 that she was going to marry Mike. She instantly felt comfortable around him, like it was meant to be from the start. Mike felt that we got along well and that there was a future.

“After Covid hit four months into dating our relationship was fast-tracked like many other new couples. Mike would stay at Lisa’s condo during the week to work from home. In September, less than a year into knowing each other, Lisa moved into Mike’s house. A year later Mike proposed to Lisa in their dining room before they made dinner. Mike had a little speech prepared and told Lisa how he felt that they were good together and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Lisa said “Of course!” and the rest is history.”

The Wedding

For anyone local, you know that this past weekend was quite the rainy one with the remnants of Hurricane Ian taking over the entire coast. In the case of Lisa and Mike’s wedding, it ended up being pretty perfect nonetheless. We were able to get portraits outside both in the rain with umbrellas and during the brief periods that it let up, and got some epic rainy night shots at the end of the night. But more importantly, Lisa found an Eastern Hercules Rhinoceros Beetle during their first look – something that only really happens when it rains! It was one of the highlights for Lisa, who loves all living things, including and especially unique bugs. It was a lovely day, celebrating a wonderful couple. Here are some of my favorites!
