Sarah and James were married this past Saturday at Linganore Winecellars. It was a perfect day for two amazing humans. You’ll see.
The Couple
From the couple: “Sarah and James have known each other for a little over ten years. Sarah is originally from Michigan and moved to Maryland in 2003 to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she earned a degree in Illustration. James grew up in Carroll County, Maryland and attended UMBC for undergrad and JHU for grad school, earning a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. The two met in 2007 while attending an Orioles game with mutual friends and soon became close friends. Five years later, romance began to develop when the two started playing ongoing games of Words With Friends (online Scrabble – which was a prominent theme in the wedding decor) and flirting over the chat feature. After their fourth anniversary, they started talking marriage. In May, 2016, while on vacation in Hawaii, James proposed on top of a volcano at sunset. Well, got down on one knee and held out the ring—then forgot everything he was going to say! Sarah gently asked, “is there something you’d like to ask me…?” and then he finally popped the question :-)”
The Wedding
Sarah and James are wonderful and I adore them. They’re kind, they’re adorable, they are cat lovers, Hawaii lovers, and the sweetest people around. Before their wedding I already enjoyed their presence and wanted to be friends with them. After? It’s an absolute must. Their wedding was so sweet and so them (see above story). The party a complete blast. The sunset, perfection. The bridesmaid dresses could turn into MC Hammer Pants. I mean, come on… best wedding ever. Sarah and James, it’s truly been an honor to get to know you and to be by your side on your big day. I hope you enjoy Maui as much as I do!! Here are just a few of my favorites from their day.
