Stacey and Michael’s wedding this past Thursday was so joyful and wonderful. I had a smile plastered on my face the whole time, and cried happy tears alongside them more times than I can count. I’m thrilled to share their story and highlights from their Christian Royer House wedding on the blog today!
The Couple
From the couple: ‘Every great love story starts somewhere, and ours began thanks to family, a Halloween party, and perfect timing. On October 31, 2018, Michael attended a Halloween party hosted by his stepsister (and Stacey’s best friend), Tyson. The two had unexpectedly reconnected after not seeing each other for several years, and thankfully, Tyson extended the invitation that would change everything. As fate would have it, Stacey and Michael were the first two guests to arrive. Before the party had even begun, they found themselves talking effortlessly. The conversation came naturally, the connection was instant, and for a while, it felt like no one else was in the room. Michael made the first date official by asking Stacey out for drinks just a few days later on November 3. What was supposed to be a quick drink turned into dinner… then a movie… and before they knew it, neither of them wanted the evening to end.
“From the very beginning, Michael’s kindness and attentiveness stood out. As a professionally trained chef, he spoke passionately about food, wine, and hospitality. Stacey found the passion in the way he spoke about cooking was the same passion she had when she spoke about theatre. Michael admired Stacey’s warmth, sense of humor, and the genuine curiosity she brought to every conversation. Over the years, they’ve built a life around the things they love most: discovering incredible restaurants, sharing a great bottle of wine, traveling together, cheering each other on in their passions, spoiling their cats, Xylenna and Bagel, and making memories at unforgettable concerts. Stacey has introduced Michael to the magic of musical theatre, while Michael has shared his love of cooking, music, and creating memorable dining experiences.
“Like every strong relationship, ours hasn’t been without challenges. Those moments didn’t pull us apart. They taught us how to communicate better, support one another more deeply, and continually choose each other. Through every season, we’ve grown not only as individuals but as partners, always believing that love is something you nurture every day. As we begin this next chapter, we’re most excited about continuing to grow together, building a lifetime filled with adventure, laughter, incredible meals, and meaningful conversations. Whether we’re exploring a new destination, enjoying one of our favorite local spots, or simply spending an evening at home with our cats, we’ve learned that the best moments are the ones we share together.”
The Wedding
Stacey and Michael are such a wonderful match for each other, and that was completely evident from the very first moments I saw them interact with each other. They have been engaged for YEARS and they were so thrilled to finally be officially married. I cried so many happy tears throughout the day – my favorite moments were obviously their first look, their incredible hearfelt vows – especially Michael speaking off the cuff and from the heart, and when Stacey sang “Make You Feel My Love.” This was the most wonderful intimate Thursday wedding and it felt so good to be surrounded by the wonderful people in their lives. So much so, that when they decided to end the party a little early and head to the after party early, inviting me to come along and have a drink with them – I didn’t hesitate, I said yes.
