I’ve mentioned how awesome TheKnot.com was for planning my own wedding as well as the community of girls I met through it, some of which I have no doubt will remain close friends for life! One of the girls I knew through the Hawaii board and got married a little while before me had the most beautiful wedding photos. I “liked” her photographer’s page on Facebook and ended up becoming a regular fan of her page. She works on the islands a good bit, but little did I know, she was actually based in San Diego, California. When we planned our trip out to San Diego (my birthplace!) immediately I knew that I wanted a session with Melissa. We would be there around my dad’s birthday– which also happens to be the day that my parents met. What a better way to celebrate the love of my beautiful parents as well as the love between me and my husband than to have a session at the place they got married on such a special day?
Melissa McClure is a super talented lady. She’s also super sweet and a lot of fun! It was fun being on the other side of the camera and we got some beautiful photos that I know we’ll cherish forever.
Here are just a few of my favorites. There are many many more and they’re all amazing!
How amazing is this place? We had actually visited this exact museum a few days prior :)
And this is at the rose garden where my parents got married :)
How fun is this next one? Melissa was experimenting with double exposures. I love how this looks very Dia de los Muertos. Pretty fun! I want to play with it for my own work too :)
So so so gorgeous!! First off, I am totally obsessed with your dress. The double exposure one is so cool. But all of these, she totally was able to perfectly capture such love between the two of you. You guys just look so happy and relaxed. I love them all!
HOW AWESOME IS THAT TREE?!? Please enlarge the picture of you guys in the roots and hang it on your wall. :) These are great!
I love these photos of the two of you! Each one is my favorite, for different reasons. The ones in the tree are amazing. You look so little.
I hope I’m one of those Knotties you stay friends with for a long time. :) As well as, when Drew and I are on our American road trip and we get to MD, that you will take some pictures of us.
Love the new haircut and the new photos!! Such great locations!
You two look gorgeous! And oh my that tree is stunning!
Meet my amazing daughter Brea and her wonderful husband Steve! They had a photo session in San Diego last week on Jim’s 53rd birthday, on the day Jim and I met 32 years ago, in the park we got married in 27 years ago ~ May 13th. Love <3
Love!
That so cool you were able to go back and have a session where your mom and dad got married! That tree it so cool! Hope you had a great vacation, it sure looks like you did?
