Tony + Dana are Engaged! | BitGen Proposal

I have to apologize, it’s been a super slow blogging week for me! I’ve been working hard on some stuff behind the scenes and I can’t wait to share it all with you in a few months!

This weekend was an awesome weekend for so many reasons! First, we found out that Blueberry Flanders will actually be named Cruz Flanders, as he’s a boy! Sunday morning, I had a family session with an adorable family who you may recognize if you were following my blog 2 years ago. I’ll share that session soon :)

However, the most amazing part of the weekend was being there to witness two amazing people become engaged! Tony and Dana are two of my favorite people in the world. My husband Steve and Tony have been best friends since they met in the 7th grade and we’ve loved Dana ever since we met her. These two couldn’t be more perfect for each other. While we were on vacation in the outerbanks we got an email from Tony saying that he was going to propose on August 10th and asked if we could be there. We had to move around some plans but OF COURSE we would be there! We wouldn’t miss this for the world.

Tony and Dana are very involved with Magfest, an annual Music and Gaming Festival that takes place each year at the National Harbor. On August 10th, Magfest held the 8th Annual BitGen Gamer Fest at Ram’s Head Live. Dana was very involved with the organization of the event, and it was to take place at Ram’s Head, a venue she’s worked at for years. Tony figured there was no better time or place to propose than at a place where she was surrounded by friends and coworkers who were practically family.

It was such a cool event! The bands were all performing nerdy gamer music, and there were consoles and arcades all over the venue, and people were relaxing and playing their favorite games, listening to awesome music. My favorite (and Dana’s favorite band!) was Knight of the Round, a band that did all Final Fantasy songs with a metal twist. (Little known fact, I’m a HUGE FF nerd.)

Let’s get to some photos:

Dana was asked to bring towels out to the stage, and they recognized her and all of her hard work helping to put the event together!

… and then he starts to mention Tony…

… and how he wants to ask her something.

And she said YES!

Blog readers, there will be a lot more of these two to come on the blog in the next year or so! First, Baby Daughtry is due in October, so we’ll have some adorable babyness to share, and now also their engagement and wedding!

Tony + Dana, I love you guys so much and I’m so, so excited for you! Congratulations again!
