Lisa + Mike | Piney Run Park Engagement Session

October 14, 2013 Lisa + Mike | Piney Run Park Engagement Session

I’ve spent a few of my “free” weekends this year second shooting for the incredible Rachel Smith. She’s amazing and I’ve loved getting to work with her and getting to know her. A few months ago, I got a wedding inquiry from an enthusiastic Lisa saying that Rachel, her best friend and bridesmaid had recommended me and that she wanted to hire someone that she could trust to do an amazing job so Rachel could relax and enjoy the wedding day. What an incredible compliment!

We set up a meeting for later that week and hit it off right away. I love Lisa and Mike so much! They are so cute and fun and so enthusiastic about each other. They have only been together for just over a year but when it’s right, it’s right. I couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect for Lisa than Mike and vice versa. Not only are they incredibly enthusiastic about being together, but also about the families that they are joining. Hearing them talk about their relationship just made a huge smile grow across my face and I wanted to be a part of their big day. Lucky for me, they wanted me to be a part of it as well.

Fast forward to last weekend and we met on a very foggy morning at the very location of their first date, Piney Run Park. Lisa had brought along her dog Doozer to their first date in case Mike turned out to be a creep. Which I think is both hilarious and brilliant! We all know how that first date turned out and now the park holds an extra special place in their hearts.

At first I was a little nervous about how the photos would turn out given the fog, but I LOVE how dramatic and intense this session is! The fog combined with the fall colors, their fantastically coordinated outfits (Lisa, I still want to steal your scarf!) and their fun love made for one of my new all time favorite sessions!

LOVE

Aren’t these colors amazing? I love fall.

I’m not going to tell you what I said here to make them laugh this hard. It’s our little secret– that Rachel knows all about ;)

90w22 <– this line is brought to you by Sherlock jumping on the keyboard of my laptop… moving on…

The fog and the fall colors = a perfect pairing. Add in a gorgeous couple and it’s just magical.

The fog cleared out in this one spot for a few moments and we got some great stuff!

Lisa is so beautiful!

As we were hiking to the pine forest we ran into this little guy. Lisa loves turtles and was extra excited about finding him. Half-jokingly I said that I wanted to do a ring shot with him. I say half-jokingly because I really wanted to but didn’t expect them to actually say yes.

She did.

It was quite the hike to the pine forest (I could use the exercise so I wasn’t complaining) and it was absolutely worth it. Such an amazing setting.

Lisa and Mike, you guys totally rock. I’ve loved getting to hang out with you twice now and hope we can do it again soon! Can’t wait for May!

xoxo,
Brea
