Launch Day!

November 11, 2013 Launch Day!

As time goes on, things change. People grow, families grow, businesses grow. This year has been an incredible year of growth for me both personally and for my business. In May I took the leap and quit my full time job to focus on my business. When I started Photography by Brea in 2010 I had done so as a way to make some extra money and turn my hobby into a side job. I honestly never expected to love it as much as I did and for it to grow so much so fast. So far in 2013 I have photographed 48 portrait sessions, 24 weddings, my first Bar Mitzvah, and I have second shot alongside some of my photographer friends for another 9 weddings… and the year isn’t over yet.

As my business has grown it’s also evolved. My style has evolved and it was time for my brand to evolve with it. I knew when it was time to re-brand my business that I wanted to work with Krista Jones. Krista is both a photographer and a designer so she was the perfect choice because she “gets it” on all levels. She helped me pinpoint what I wanted my brand to say about me and my business and took the time to get to know what makes me tick as a person and as a businessperson. The brand that we came up with is both playful and classic, one that I feel represents me and my work perfectly.

In addition to launching my new brand today I’m also launching a new website. I worked with Kit Peteranecz on my new site after seeing him knock it out of the park on Dani Leigh‘s website earlier this year. We sat down and talked about what I was going for, how I wanted my photos to stand front and center and about our love for our cats. I knew he was the right guy for the job and I’m SO happy with how everything turned out. It’s exactly what I was looking for. With the new site, I also wanted to marry my blog and my main site. The blog is such a huge part of my business, it’s where I get to talk–with my own voice–about each couple, each family, each session and share what makes them unique and tell their story both with words and images. By allowing my personality to come through more, I feel like my website gives a better view of who I am as a person as well as my style of photography. Allowing viewers to easily skate between the main site, information pages, and blog was a huge priority to me and I’m excited about how it has turned out!

It feels like 2013 has flown by and it sure has been amazing so far– but it’s not over yet! There’s still much more to come to the blog over the next couple of months, so stay tuned and check out the new site!
