Andrea and John met on the stairs at a frat party at University of Maryland in 2006. Little did they know that that chance meeting would turn into a lifetime of love. This Saturday evening I met these two at the very place they they met, their alma mater. I have worked several basketball, football and softball games at the College Park campus but I had never explored the grounds until this weekend. It’s such a gorgeous place! I couldn’t think of a better location for an engagement session of two UMD alumni. We wandered the campus, I learned about the history of the school, the history of the grounds, and even got to see that fateful fraternity house.
Andrea and John are already married. John is in the Air Force and he and Andrea got married in a small courthouse ceremony before he was supposed to deploy last year. His deployment actually ended up being cancelled, so they started planning their big wedding right away! I can’t wait to work with these two for their wedding this September!
All of the buildings at UMD look the same, brick front, white columns. It makes the campus absolutely gorgeous, but I’d also imagine that as a freshman it must have been pretty confusing at first.
One fun thing about working with a couple that’s already married is that I have all three rings to play with for the pre-wedding ‘engagement’ session.
Hi Testudo! I learned about the offerings that people leave Testudo for finals week. There was a “100” written in pennies that we had to move for this shot.
Ahh gorgeous!
Jim Henson and Kermit!? I couldn’t love this place more.
Too cute!
After a quick wardrobe change we headed to Byrd Stadium for some more!
And here on the right is the frat house where they met! A little dilapidated, but still important :) Also, what can you expect when it’s a place inhabited by 2 dozen or more college dudes?
We ended our evening back down at the mall, for a few final gorgeous photos. Love these!
Aww! They are so cute! What a great session!
The light in those last few shots on the mall is amazing! I love this session Brea!
These are lovely! We were there at the same time shooting – don’t know how we missed you! :)
