Meet Jess and Joe. I met these two lovely people when we worked at the Apple Store in Towson years ago. I had actually met Jess in passing years before, but we were never really more than acquaintances. When we were both hired at the same time at Apple and put through training together, we quickly became friends – especially since we already sort of “knew” each other. In general, that job was amazing because of the people we worked with and it felt like one big family. Jess and Joe started dating shortly after we started working there, and it’s so fun to finally be watching two of my favorite friends get married! I’m also so excited and honored to be pulling double duty as wedding photographer and bridesmaid on their wedding day! I will be a blubbering mess, but what’s new?
When trying to figure out what to do for their engagement session, we knew we needed to do something different. They wanted to incorporate Apple somehow, and wanted to avoid all of the touristy and kind of typical Baltimore locations. We ended up settling on Graffiti Alley in Baltimore with a side of Clipper Mill, one of my new favorite locations. I couldn’t think of anything better for these two! I love how fun, bright and unique this session turned out to be! When working for friends you want to go all out and do your best, and I really love how these turned out. Some of these are a bit of a departure from my usual style but I love it!
We met bright and early at Graffiti Alley, and of course since all three of us are crazy cat people, I needed to get a photo with the cat spray painting… and for Joe, the Natty Boh guy. I also love the power button. Also appropriate.
How cool and crazy is this area? So colorful!!
Obsesssssedd…
So of course, I see Woody from Toy Story with a bullet wound on the wall and need them to pose near him. The colors are lovely, the fact that Woody’s dead? Not so much, but it’s still a Toy Story reference, so it’s a win in my book.
My beautiful Jess! Also, I love the one on the left, which has been titled “Beard-Nose”
FAVE!
After exhausting our options at the L-Shaped Graffiti Alley we headed to Clipper Mill. I love that each time I shoot here I see it in a completely different way.
I want to steal Jess’ anchor sandals. Also, for those of you who follow the blog regularly you may remember seeing Jess’ ring before.
Anyone who’s not a big Apple geek or former employee may not quite get the significance of this, but these were our name tags/lanyards when working there. This particularly made my heart happy because I remember these broken lanyards from when we still worked there, complete with Jess’ gold star (a gift from one of our managers) and Joe’s sim card removal tool thing. Now if only we had a black stick behind Joe’s ear, the photo and my nostalgia trip would be complete.
How have I never noticed this spot before? I love this little bridge!
Gah! Models.
Beard-Nose, the sequel.
