Sometimes things don’t quite go as planned on your wedding day… but when you’re marrying the love of your life, surrounded by all of the people that mean the most to you, it doesn’t really matter.
The morning of Sarah and Thomas’ wedding I checked the forecast for North Beach, Maryland and saw rain in the forecast for most of the day, starting around the time of the ceremony and going until the wee hours of the morning. Immediately I started panicking. Sarah and Thomas had planned on keeping with tradition and waiting until the ceremony to see each other, and if we didn’t get time before the wedding for photos and the rain came as planned, all of their portraits would end up taking place in the tent with all of their guests in it as well. Not ideal. I got to the venue and Sarah was perfectly happy and calm, we discussed the possibility of rain and the risk we’d be taking keeping all of their portraits for after the ceremony. She had me check with Thomas and the decision was made- we were doing a first look!
Their first look was perfectly sweet, and we were able to get all of the portraits before the ceremony. At this point, the weather forecast still said a 0% chance of rain for at least the next hour and a half. As we were wrapping up the pre-ceremony portraits, it started to rain. The storm had made it to us earlier than expected, and the rain didn’t let up the rest of the day.
No matter what, nothing could get Sarah and Thomas down. They had permanent smiles on their faces and a beautiful attitude the whole day. Even with the rain, I think this may be my new favorite wedding!
Anyway, enough rambling from me, onto the pictures!
Sarah’s dress is absolutely stunning! We drew a crowd when we hung it up outside!
How amazing is this hair piece? Obsessed!
Gorgeous ladies!
Sarah’s momma had me a little teary. So sweet.

Their first look was such a sweet moment!
She took his breath away!
While we were waiting for the bridal party and family to get rounded up for portraits – now much earlier than originally planned – we were able to get some really beautiful photos of Thomas and Sarah on the beach!
So sweet!
Ahh I just love the cabana shot!
We recreated one of the favorite engagement photos!
Jen photographed the handsome men. All but Robert that is. (There is no Robert)
And I photographed the lovely ladies!!
Favorite!
These bridals of Sarah are just stunning. Such a beautiful bride.
As I said earlier, it started drizzling right as we were finishing up, and it never did let up. They still opted to have the ceremony outside and decided to just rough it through the drizzle. And then the drizzle turned into real rain.
Thankfully there were tons of umbrellas and we were able to make it work!
Rajah!! I love that pup, she’s so sweet.
It may not have been the plan, but the outdoor rainy ceremony, with the pretty umbrellas turned out to be really cool!
This was at the end of the ceremony when the officiant asked everyone to rise before the blessing… and everyone was already standing! Haha!
And MARRIED!
Before Rajah went home we got one quick family photo! Sweet girl.
The reception tent was absolutely gorgeous! I just love the uplighting colors, the streamers, and all of the decor!
It was a dream!
The party was an absolute BLAST!!
Before the night was over, we snuck out for a few quick rainy night shots – and these are definitely some of my new favorites.
Sarah and Thomas,
I adore you guys and I’m so glad you found me and that I can now call you friends! I can’t wait to plan our upcoming escape room double date, and to hit the slopes with you next winter! I hope you’re having a blast in Cancun and I can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back.
xoxo,
Brea

Brea and Jennifer-Thank You so much! These pictures are absolutely beautiful and we are so pleased Sarah and Thomas chose you to do their photography! What a perfect day. The rain added that special touch to an already amazing day. You surely have a talent and were so accommodating. Thanks for giving them the opportunity for the First Look. Sarah’s momma:)
Loooove all of their portraits before the rain came!! Oh my gosh how happy they must be that they opted for the first look! Beautiful job Brea!
Though I was not able to be with you these beautiful pics make me feel like I was there-minus the music and the voices. Great job.
