Last fall, I got a phone call from the sweetest girl, incredibly excited about her wedding and saying that they’d done their research and I was the photographer for them. We chatted over email for a few days, and tried to find a date that worked for all of us for their wedding since the date with the venue was not yet set in stone. When we met in person, I fell in love with them. Shuchita and Jay are so sweet, genuine, and easy to get along with, and I knew that this was the perfect fit on both sides. They had decided that a July wedding was going to work best for them and I ended up booking my travel for the year around their wedding! For the last two years I had taken the month of July off and to travel and to take a nice mid-season break to refresh and unwind, but I knew that for the right couple, it was worth making the exception. They are definitely the right couple. I couldn’t love these two more and I’m so lucky that after all of this, I’m leaving with two new incredible friends.
Shuchita and Jay complement each other in all of the best ways. They’re both intelligent, sweet, and as I love to put it, delightfully nerdy. Jay is a video game developer (hello dream job), and Shuchita is a rock star. No seriously, this woman is incredible. Within the last two months she’s graduated from grad school at Johns Hopkins, studied for and passed her boards to become a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, moved, and gotten married!
Their wedding day was nothing short of perfection. Surrounded by their incredible friends and family (a perfect reflection of how awesome they are, is that everyone they celebrated with on their wedding day was equally awesome, hilarious, fun, etc.), filled to the brim with love, and with the gorgeous backdrop of The Belvedere, this wedding couldn’t have been a bigger joy to capture. Shuchita and Jay were married in a Hindu/Christian Fusion ceremony, celebrating and honoring the traditions of both families. As Reverend Shauna Hyde said, they were pronouced married twice so they’re really married! Shuchita and Jay, I’m so honored that you chose me to capture your wedding day and be a part of your lives! I’m so glad we’ve become friends and I can’t wait to see where life’s journey takes you!

Brea, everything about this wedding is AMAZING. It is no surprise that they chose their day around your availability and I can’t think of a better wedding to photograph after your trip. STUNNING.
