This Strong Mansion wedding at Sugarloaf Mountain was an absolute blast this past weekend. Jennie Rose and Brian are the best kind of fun, which meant for an awesome party to start their new life together.
The Couple
Jennie Rose and Brian met in the fall of 2012 when their future Best Man, Mike, made good on his promise to set Jennie Rose up with someone without telling her. He’d always told her he would just sit back and “watch it happen.” Jennie Rose was onto Mike’s plan though and given she was suddenly on a blind meeting wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt (not the first impression she wanted to make), she hid on the floor behind the couch. She made up for it a week later by going to see Brian play with his band, The Flock, and striking up a Facebook conversation with him that led to their first real date. They’ve spent several years traveling, going to wineries, and even preparing for a triathlon together (which Jennie Rose assures me Brian is almost happy about).
In Jennie Rose’s own words, “Brian proposed to Jennierose in the perfect, intimate setting of our apartment on Friday the 13th (March 2015). Jennierose was 75% surprised, the 25% not surprised because Brian asked about 6 times in 24 hours what time she was coming home from work.” It doesn’t take long being around these two to see how perfect they are for each other in all of their silliness and general awesome.
The Wedding
Exactly one year to the day before their wedding, I met Jennie Rose and Brian for their engagement session. And as Facebook decided to remind me the morning of their wedding, we also became Facebook friends that day. Over the last year, Jennie Rose has become one of my favorite Facebook friends. Which of course makes it feel like we’re BFFs in real life — Though we did have a pretty sweet taco date to go over their timeline, so maybe that’s to come :) I already knew I loved her. Brian, however, quickly joined the ranks of “Brea’s favorite people” at their reception. From singing all the words to The Digital Underground’s Humpty Dance (which I was also doing from behind my camera–fun fact: I know every single one) to pulling out the “Hitch” references when Usher’s Yeah! came on, I realized that Brian and I are basically the same person and I was completely sold.
Jennie Rose and Brian are truly unique and so was their Strong Mansion wedding. For one, there were lady bugs all over the property, which is basically the only possible cute bug infestation to have. While we were together taking portaits, there was a hilarious moment when Jennie Rose told Brian that he had hated her dress when someone picked it on the show, Say Yes to the Dress. (Which, to be fair, I think it was agreed by all parties, including the bride herself, that it was not the right dress for that bride.) They Rick Rolled their guests with the processional music. And to top it off, some good luck with an impeccably timed, monsoon-like rainstorm that hit minutes after the ceremony ended. It was a spectacular day for a most deserving couple. A few of my favorites on the blog today.

I love everything about this wedding! Her ring is gorgeous and you captured SO much fun!
Brea!! This wedding!! So much fun! I love all the cute little in between moments. Those cups are for sure elegant, the fact he hated her dress when it was on the show is hilarious, the flower girl picking her nose, and the bride blowing a lady bug off her finger during the ceremony! It’s just so good :)
So much ladybug good luck! How wonderful! Also, I had to say that cake shot is ON POINT. Love the framing! :D
What fun bridal party pics! Looks like a great crowd. So many awesome expressions and reactions, and I’ll echo Kathy and say, man, that cake shot – epic!
This is awesome! Such a fun family :) and I love the venue!
