This Vandiver Inn wedding was chock full of love and warmth. Jessica and Brian are a couple of characters, and I can’t wait for you to see some of my favorites from their fun-filled day.

The Couple

Jessica and Brian met through a mutual friend in 2010. They went on a few dates and texted back and forth (mostly about the Backstreet Boys, Jess made sure to point out), but then Jess moved away for grad school, and things died down. A few years later in 2013, Jess came back to Boston for a new job. When Brian met up with her and some mutual friends, he took the opportunity to ask her out for lunch. Meanwhile, Jess thought it was just lunch and didn’t get that it was a date. There were several more dates Jess didn’t know were dates before she finally realized Brian was spending quite a bit of time with her!

When Brian decided he wanted to ask Jessica to marry him, he secretly planned a proposal for their trip to Sedona, AZ  and the Grand Canyon at the top of Cathedral Rock. Jessica says that what was supposed to be an easy hike turned out to be a more difficult climb than they bargained for. Once they reached the top, they paused to take in the views, and Brian flagged someone down to take a picture. A man named Bill was kind enough to take a few photos for them with Jess’s camera. For the last shot, Brian insisted on taking off his hat while Jessica meanwhile begged him to keep it on. But hiding in a tiny pocket in the top of his hat was the ring! Brian was at a loss for words and Jessica said, “yes”–and Bill caught the whole thing on camera.

The Wedding

Jessica and Brian’s Vandiver Inn wedding was an absolute blast. Jess is hilarious and not at all emotional, which was enteratining beacuse literally everyone else around her was shedding tears. There was so much laughter and fun all day though, and everyone was definitely taking part in that. Ethan Wise from Wise Films even had the bridal party break out The Mannequin Challenge.
