Martha and Sawyer were married this past Saturday at the Maryland Club in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by endless love.
The Couple
From the couple: “We met in December of 2013… online. For our first date we had sushi and played pool. Sawyer asked me to be his girlfriend that night! We’ve been inseparable ever since. From Florissant to Colorado Springs to Denver to Baltimore we’ve strengthened our relationship through moves, evolving careers, connections with family and 4 rabbits (currently we have Penelope and Leonidas). Now we are both in new adventures: I am in grad school for social work and Sawyer is General Manager at Bookmakers in Federal Hill! Sawyer proposed in a garden last June and we have been wedding planning ever since, excited to commit our lives to each other in front of the people we love.”
The Wedding
Martha and Sawyer’s wedding has been one of my most anticipated weddings of the year since my first phone call with Martha almost a year ago. I asked her a question on that phone call that I now ask everyone – “what is it that draws you to my work?” Hearing her tell me what she saw in my work and how she wanted that for her wedding (energy, love, emotion) helped to confirm for me that not only am I doing the right things, but I’m attracting the right people.
A few days later I met with Martha, Sawyer, and Martha’s mom, Réné. Sawyer and Martha have a truly beautiful connection and I was really excited to capture that – but even more special was the connection that Martha has with her family. They talked about how important family was to them, and how Sawyer was so excited to be a part of such a close family as well. Fast forward to the wedding day and I could see that it was definitely not just talk. The closeness that this family has is beautiful and so, so special. And not only are they loving and warm and inclusive of each other but they also made me feel like family – Réné even insisted that I be a part of the celebration and held my hand while she gave the blessing before dinner. There were so many beautiful moments throughout the day. It was such an honor to be a part of and to be trusted with capturing it all. Here are a few of my favorites.

This wedding is basically a documentation of all the expressions. Love.
Simply gorgeous. Also, his suit is baller. Your ceremony lighting is so pretty! And you got tears! Multiple actual tears! Probably could not be more impressed with these if I tried.
What a beautiful wedding full of so many happy tears! I love all of the emotion!
