Roopa and Marc had an awesome two week bi-coastal wedding celebration, and we were honored to be a part of their East Coast wedding. They were married at the Elkridge Furnace Inn this past Saturday in what has set a high bar for the best party of the year thus far!
The Couple
From the bride:
“Although Marc and I grew up around 10 miles away from each other in Ellicott City, Maryland we never met. We even went to rival high schools. In 2006, I (Bride) moved out to the Bay Area in California with my family. In 2013, Marc moved out to San Francisco to pursue a job opportunity. In 2014, we met in San Francisco and learned that we knew a lot of the same people and quickly realized that we went to rival high schools in Maryland. Small world! We quickly fell in love.Ā A few years later, we found ourselves still happily in love and living in Oakland, California.Ā Ā
On the day we got engaged, March 9, 2018, Marc asked me if I wanted to walk to Lake Merritt with him as the sun was setting. It wasn’t a particularly unusual request because we love walking a few blocks down to the lake and spending time there together. In fact, Lake Merritt was a special and meaningful area for us because we spend our anniversary there every year, taking a gondola ride on the lake. On this day though, I caught Marc with a goofy grin on his face right as he was stuffing something into his pocket so I knew something was up. We walked to the lake just as the sun was setting and the string lights that hang around the lake were just flickering on. Marc told me how much he loved me and wanted to spend his life with me and then got down on one knee. We called our friends and family to share the news!”
The Wedding
By the time we got to Marc and Roopa’s wedding, they were already legally married as they had an Indian celebration the week prior in California. I don’t know if it was because they were already married, because they’re just that awesome, or a combination of the two – but their wedding was super laid back, incredibly fun, and filled with amazing moments. This was our second wedding for the Goldstein crew, and it was an honor to spend the day with such amazing people who are so open and loving towards everyone in their lives… and they certainly know how to party! Roopa and Marc, you are incredibly special people and we loved being a part of your day! Here’s a small sampling of my favorites… I had a hard time narrowing it down, I apologize in advance for photo overload :)
