Cat and Kevin‘s wedding was originally supposed to mark our halfway point for 2020 weddings, and instead we’re only just beginning. This year looks quite different, but I’m learning that different can be quite beautiful.

I absolutely adore Cat and Kevin, they’re already fast becoming real friends of mine. Their wedding has always been one of the ones I was most looking forward to this year, and although plans needed to be altered, this day did not disappoint. Instead of their original plan, Cat and Kevin were married in her parents’ back yard with 20 of their closest friends and family members present. They shared beautifully written personalized vows privately before the ceremony, still shared in special dances and heartfelt toasts, and wrapped the day up with food from Chesapeake Food Works. We may have needed to pivot, but it was a beautiful day, good for the soul, and it felt right. Congratulations, friends (also, Friends). You’re the best and we can’t wait to party with you when it’s safe.
