Jen and Sul were legally married this past weekend at the Pen Ryn Estate, and it was a gorgeous day celebrating two of the best people!

The Couple

Love story: We met through Groupon! A co-worker told Jen about a Groupon for Aikido, and a couple days later, Jen decided to check out the dojo. At the edge of the training mats, she struck up a conversation with the instructor to learn more about the school. Sul was assisting with the class and walked over to say hi and help. It was love at first sight and the rest is history.

Proposal: It was an ordinary evening after work when Sul suggested we go for a drive. This is something we do regularly to just get out of the house and get some fresh air. We went down Kelly Drive and Sul was playing some of “our songs” on the speakers. On the way back, he pulled over to one of our favorite spots on Kelley Drive. Sul asked Jen if she was wearing her promise ring, and she said yes and showed it to him. He said he has a better one and pulled out her engagement ring. Before he could finishing kneeling down and ask the big question she said “YES,” and we were engaged.

The marriage: Yes, we are already married! Sulaiman’s parents had a surprise wedding for us at their home in Philly. We went there so Sul could help his mom with her FitBit. His parents have been pressing him for us to get married for awhile, and he finally gave in. They struck the iron while it was hot, called an officiant and had us married over speakerphone right then and there around 8pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021.

The Wedding

I absolutely adore these people. They are fun, they are kind, and they are so warm you want to be a part of their friend family from the first moment of meeting them. Jen and Sul’s wedding was a testament to how special they are. They had ELEVEN people write speeches, and each one was as heartfelt as the rest. All in all, it was a perfect day to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter. Here are just some of my favorites.
