Ashley and DJ were married this past weekend on the water in Belcamp, MD at Waters Edge Events Center! I’m excited to share highlights from their wonderful day on the blog!

The Couple

From the bride: “DJ and I were in the same fifth grade class, and although we knew each other, we were not really friends until Driver’s Ed class senior year. DJ will forever be my prom date that never left! He asked me to prom, and thinking he was cute and really needing a date, I said yes. From there our friendship grew stronger and we started recognizing it was more than just friendship. DJ has driven a jeep for the majority of our relationship. We have had many joyrides, exploring rides, and “need a break and lets go for a ride” rides. We love exploring new and local places, but I think the best parts are when we spend time together and with friends and family. We would not be here without them. Through college, dissertation, and beginning careers, DJ has been and continues to be my rock. DJ proposed when we were in key west for the best man’s 30th birthday. At that time, I was finishing up exams for my doctoral program and getting ready to start my dissertation. We both agreed to wait until after I finished school to get married, and we did not anticipate a global pandemic to delay graduation. 17 years after prom, we are both excited to jump feet first into marriage.”

The Wedding

Ashley and DJ’s wedding was such a wonderful day, filled with wonderful people. Ashley and DJ themselves are so lovely, we absolutely adore them. But beyond that, they have the most loving family and friends and being surrounded by everyone felt warm and comfortable. It’s one of those days that’s just good for the soul. I’m so thankful that we got to be a part of it! Here are just some of my favorites from their wedding day.
