Brittney and Max’s wedding at Mountain Top Resort in Vermont this past weekend was a dream in every possible way. It was WARM, we still had snow on the ground, stunningly beautiful views, and more importantly, the best people around. I’m so excited to share highlights on the blog today!
The Couple
From the couple: “We met the good old fashioned way- Hinge! We fell in love while swapping travel stories, climbing up mountains, and spending time in the woods. Max realized Brittney was the one when she showed up to go camping carrying a trowel to dig a hole for the bathroom, when in reality it was just a casual camping trip with friends (yes there were bathrooms and showers). Max realized in that moment he had found someone who would never say no to his crazy adventures.
“Our engagement happened one cold day in Vermont. After skiing, Max brought Brittney on a very muddy path through the woods to an overlook, where he got down on one knee. He picked his ring to match his mom’s design, an homage to his grandmother (Max’s mom wears her ring) who died when his mom was young.”
The Wedding
As an honorary Vermonter (the daughter of an actual Vermonter), I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding in Vermont since I started this business 15+ years ago. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the country and holds a deeply special place in my heart. As a child, visiting Vermont to see family every summer made it feel like a home away from home. As an adult, returning to create my own traditions and discover new favorite spots has only deepened that connection.
Needless to say, I was beyond thrilled when I heard from Brittney and Max about photographing their wedding in Vermont. I’ve known Max for more years than I’d care to count now (he’s cousins with a good friend of mine), so this wedding felt special from the very beginning — not just because of my love for Vermont, but because I already knew what a wonderful family this is.
Brittney and Max are both adventurous, curious, and full of life in a way that makes being around them feel effortless and joyful. They complement each other so naturally, and I’ve absolutely loved getting to know them as a couple throughout this journey. From their engagement photos in Shenandoah Valley, to this stunning day in Vermont, to their patience as I tumbled down Killington Mountain after them on my snowboard while taking photos the day after the wedding (coming to the blog soon) every step has been an adventure together.
Brittney and Max, thank you so much for trusting me to capture this chapter of your story. Here are just some of my favorites.
