Ramona and Tommy’s wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Industry was a day layered with meaning—equal parts celebration, remembrance, and the kind of love that holds everything together. This Baltimore wedding was less about a beginning, and more about honoring a story already deeply rooted.
The Couple
The Beginning:
In the summer of 2020-when the world stood still, yet everyone searched for connection-a boy from Iowa and a girl from Ohio matched on Hinge and unknowingly set the first page of their forever story in motion. With cities quiet and uncertainty everywhere, they chose something simple and hopeful: a first date walk around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, ice cream in hand and sunlight glinting off the water. She remembers losing her train of thought mid-sentence-not from nerves, but because he had really pretty eyes. He remembers something else: the unmistakable spark, the feeling that this wasn’t just another date. By week three, he was already telling his mother about the girl who made the edges of a difficult year feel lighter. What began as a cautious pandemic stroll quickly became a love story defined by warmth, laughter, and the kind connection that arrives exactly when it’s meant to. This book captures the unexpected magic in meeting in extraordinary times-and the beautiful journey that followed.
The Middle:
For nearly two years, love lived somewhere between mile markers. It existed in three-hour drives made every weekend without hesitation, in packed bags by the door, and in headlights cutting through late nights. While the world moved cautiously, they moved toward each other – again and again – choosing distance not as a barrier, but as proof. Every drive became a quiet act of devotion.
Eventually, the miles shortened, and what had once been a road between them became the foundation beneath them. Together, Tommy and Ramona began building a home-not just in structure, but in intention. Repainting the walls with their own hands, they chose colors, made mistakes, and watched blank spaces slowly become theirs, each brushstroke marking the shift from motion to permanence.
This is not a story of grand gestures, but of consistency-the quiet power of showing up and turning a house into a home, proving that sometimes the longest roads lead exactly where you’re meant to stay.
The Engagement:
On March 1, 2025, Tommy brought the story full circle. At Federal Hill Park-the very place where it all began-he asked Ramona to choose forever. What started, once again, with ice cream and an easy walk became something far more extraordinary as they made their way to the overlook, the harbor stretching wide below them just as it had on their first date.
There, Tommy handed Ramona a book-one she didn’t know she’d been helping write all along. Page by page, it held the memories of their relationship: the miles, the moments, the love that grew stronger with time. On the final page waited the engagement ring, quietly certain and unmistakably perfect- a proposal rooted not in spectacle, but in shared history, proving that thir greatest milestones had always been written together
The Wedding
Some wedding days are joyful in the loud, celebratory way people expect. Others carry something quieter—something deeper.
This past weekend, Ramona and Tommy gathered their people to celebrate their marriage. It wasn’t the beginning of their story as husband and wife, but a continuation of it. One shaped by love, loss, and the kind of perspective that only comes when life doesn’t go according to plan.
Last September, they exchanged vows in their backyard in an intimate ceremony, surrounded by only a handful of loved ones. It was intentional, heartfelt, and, in many ways, everything a wedding needs to be. The timing was important: Ramona’s mom, Chitra, was there. Just weeks later, she passed.
Stepping into this weekend carried a different weight. Not because it was any less meaningful—but because it existed alongside that earlier moment. A celebration layered with memory. There were pieces of her everywhere. In the quiet pauses, in the way people held each other a little longer, in the moments where joy and grief sat side by side, neither canceling the other out.
During the toasts, Ramona’s maid of honor shared something that stayed with me. After Chitra passed, Ramona had said she felt like she had lost her family. But standing in that room, it was impossible not to see the truth of what surrounded her: a family that had shown up, loved her deeply, and would walk beside her wherever life takes her.
This day wasn’t only a celebration of Ramona and Tommy—though their love is steady and undeniable. It was also a reflection of Chitra’s love for Ramona, still present in the daughter she raised, the relationships she nurtured, and the way everyone gathered so intentionally around Ramona. It was a reminder that love doesn’t disappear; it expands, it echoes, it lives on in the people who carry it forward.
Saturday was exactly what it was meant to be: a celebration of their marriage, their resilience, and the life they’re building together.
It was emotional. It was beautiful. It was real. And it was theirs.
It was an honor to be the one to capture it <3 I am thankful for these beautiful people now being a part of my life.
