Today I am blogging yet another wedding I worked on with Rachel Smith Photography this year. This one was on a cool October day with threats of torrential downpour all day. As it turned out, we got incredibly lucky and the skies stayed clear until just after the ceremony, where they opened up and poured down on us. But no worries- Amanda and Bobby were married, and had already gotten all of their photos done before the ceremony! Even with the pouring down rain these two had a perfect day that highlighted their special love.
Rachel and I trekked to The Inn at Mitchell House for their wedding and it was absolutely worth the drive. The house is amazing, as are the grounds!
Bobby and the guys got ready in the main house, and Amanda got ready in a smaller house on the property with her girls. The rooms were amazing! Once Bobby and the guys were all dressed, we headed out to get some photos before their first look. And of course they insisted putting Bobby on the swing. These are hilarious! While patiently waiting for his beautiful bride to meet him for the first look, Bobby and I chatted a bit about their relationship. I could see his love for her while he talked about her, and the smile upon his face when he could hear her nearing.
The florals by Ellen from Local Color Flower were absolutely stunning as always! I love that you never really know what you’ll end up with until the wedding day. Couples simply give Ellen a color palette to work with and the rest is a surprise based on what’s local and in season! These beautiful bouquets tied in the colors of the mis-matched bridesmaid gowns perfectly! As guests were arriving I headed inside with Amanda and the girls while they prepared for the ceremony to start. I love that Amanda kept peeking out the window. The reception set up was absolutely stunning! Amanda did an amazing job with all of the details. So stunning. The candy bar was a total hit! What a fun way to satisfy your sweet tooth and keep the energy levels up! I love the simple, classy cake made beautiful with more of the amazing florals. As always it was a blast working with Rachel and getting to work with her amazing couples!
Those flowers! Those bridal portraits! That candy! What a fun wedding!!! I would love to second shoot for you eventually Brea!
