Watching you grow!

June 11, 2012 Watching you grow!

One of the reasons I love being a photographer (there are so many reasons I love it, aren’t there?) is that I get to watch you and your family grow! Photographers are like doctors and other life long service providers. If you find one you click with, you stick with them forever and they become almost a part of your family. It took me what felt like forever to find a doctor that I like, and now that I have I have no intention of going to another physician again! When I went to my last doctor’s visit he asked me how Hawaii was and asked how my burn was healing (I never went to him for my burn, he’s just THAT good) and I got a hug from the receptionist! Okay, the receptionist was my cousin filling in for a coworker but that’s not the point. We have a relationship now and I couldn’t imagine going to anyone else. I know that Dr. Marur will be in my life for the long haul (he’s awesome, if you need a primary care physician look him up: Surendra Marur at GBMC) and I feel so honored that my clients feel the same way about me.

Many of you I’ve known since before I got into photography and you’ve watched me grow as a photographer much like I’ve watched your families grow over the years. Others of you have come into my life more recently, and in both cases I feel like my clients are my friends and I love watching your families grow with pride! As a photographer I can be with you every step of the way. From the engagement, to the wedding, to the birth of your first child, to the many years of family photos to come.

Photos are so important and sometimes we forget how important. They are the way that we freeze our memories in time. Our memories will not last forever, but these photographs will be your way to remember just how cute your baby really was, how gorgeous your bride looked on her wedding day, how happy you were in that moment.

This weekend for me embodies this type of growth! On Saturday I am photographing the wedding of Andrea and Chad at the Irvine Nature Center. On Sunday I have an engagement session to start off the morning with an old friend who I used to work with at the Apple store during college and his beautiful fiancée, followed by a quick scouting trip to Annapolis with Dom and Sarah to find a first look location for their wedding day in just over two weeks, and then rounding the day off with a family session with a beautiful family in Bethesda.

Some photographers limit themselves to just shooting engagements and weddings but that’s not for me. I want to be in this with you for the long haul. Thanks for letting me!

I have to agree with you! Dr. Marur is THE best! I’ve made him my PCP for that very same reason … actually his name is what led me to your website, but now that I’m here, I also had to add: you’re an amazing photgrapher! Your shots are vibrant, fun, and they all radiate with love! I’m sure only big doors will continue to open for you. Keep up the great work!

Kind regards from a passerby. :-)
