I’ve had this blog post on the schedule for a little longer than normal since Lisa and Mike were off enjoying their honeymoon in St. Lucia unplugged from the world and enjoying newlywed bliss! I’ve been excitedly looking forward to Lisa and Mike’s wedding day since their engagement session – which you may remember with all of it’s gorgeous foggy delight. These two are just so fun to be around. They both have this warm inviting aura about them and it makes you feel comfortable and at ease just by being around them. Lisa and Mike had such an amazingly beautiful wedding day and they were both so sweet, so calm and collected all day long. Every moment was beautiful and memorable from their first look, to their first dance, to the last dance. I’m so glad I was able to be a part of your day!
Also a big big special thanks to Laura Black for stepping in at the last minute to second shoot for me and my amazing intern Valerie for all of their help to make Mike and Lisa’s wedding day go as smoothly as possible.
Lisa and Mike were married at the beautiful Milton Ridge in Clarksburg, Maryland. We started off the day meeting the girls in the bridal cottage for detail shots and to photograph the getting ready process. Lisa designed all of the stationery for her wedding and it is so pretty! I love the lovebird theme and the color scheme.
I love Lisa’s dress, so stunning! You may remember me mentioning in their engagement session blog post, that one of my photographer friends, Rachel Smith, referred them to me as she was going to be a bridesmaid in their wedding. It was fun getting to hang out with Rachel some more too! Lisa was so happy and radiant. Her excitement was contagious! After getting dressed, we were off to the chapel for a very sweet and private first look.I love Mike’s face when he sees Lisa for the first time. I got a little teary watching him fight back his tears. After their first look we headed outside for portraits of the lovely couple, bridal party and family! Such a good looking group. Gotta love a group that commits! I love the bright and colorful bouquets by Ory Custom Florals – they pop so well against the navy! I love these few of Mike, such a handsome groom.I love Lisa’s beautiful hairstyle and clip.Such a beautiful bride! After we finished up the portraits it was off to Milton Ridge’s Historical Chapel for a beautiful ceremony. The reception details were a DIYer’s heaven. Everything was made by the bride and executed beautifully. Even the truffles were made by hand by the bride and a friend. They looked AMAZING! I love their guest poster. Such a fun idea! Lisa and Mike entered the reception to an excited crowd and shared a sweet first dance. There were touching and hilarious speeches by both the Maid of Honor and Best Man. During dinner I took them out for a few extra shots right before the skies opened and the rain came. We got some amazing storm clouds in the background, and I love what they added to these photos. Back inside after dinner we kicked off the party with the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dances. And party they did! Lisa and Mike, I have loved getting to know you guys and working with you to capture your wedding day memories. You had a beautiful day and I’m so happy I got to be a part of it. Here’s to many years of love and happiness ahead!

I love the colors of this wedding and all of their little details. That first shot of the groom….the black and white vertical of him squatting…..that belongs in a fashion magazine or something!
Love these!! I love the brides smile so much, she truly looks so in love and happy. The detail shots are especially gorgeous!! And their portraits, so beautiful.
Brilliant! Seriously in love with that ceremony shot of the bride and her father, but they really are all gorgeous!
