Kelly + Josh | Patapsco Valley State Park Engagement Session

August 20, 2015 Kelly + Josh | Patapsco Valley State Park Engagement Session

On today’s edition of “Brea, you’re getting old” – my best friend’s little sister’s engagement session. I’ve known Kelly since she was a preteen, and by the time they get married next year, I’ll be able to say I’ve known her for half of her life. Which is crazy. Back when we first met the gap in our ages seemed enormous. I was entering college, and Kelly was in middle school. Now, it’s like the age gap is non-existent. Funny how things happen as you get older. Heck, I remember when Josh (brother Josh, not fiancé Josh) told me that Kelly had her first serious boyfriend. We always thought the boyfriends were nice enough, but never quite good enough for Kelly. That is until Josh (now I’m referring to fiancé Josh). Right away everyone knew this one was different.

Back in December at Ethan‘s birthday party, I was making small talk with Josh and I asked him when he and Kelly were going to get married. Just being nosy and silly – not actually expecting a real answer, and he said he was actually planning on proposing in the spring. We talked for a little bit about logistics and then Kelly came over and the topic changed to photography. Smooth, Josh, smooth. Fast forward a few months, and Kelly was sending me a message with a photo of her ring and candles in the sand spelling out “Marry Me?” and the wedding planning began! I’m so incredibly excited for these two. They’re such an awesome couple and I just know their wedding will be an absolute blast.

Here are just a few of my favorites from our session at Patapsco Valley State Park, with a few night shots at The Elkridge Furnace Inn:
