I’ve been looking forward to Chanelle and Mike’s wedding for almost two years. They started planning early to try and limit the amount of stress of wedding planning, so I’ve been on board since last February. When we first started talking about their wedding and they mentioned it being at their house in McDaniel, Maryland, I didn’t know what to expect. Let’s just say, it wasn’t this. When I pulled up to the ceremony site, my jaw dropped. Just down the street from their home was this stunning waterfront farm. I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful place to get married. And where better to have a reception than at your home together? I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the beginning of a marriage. Chanelle and Mike have been together for 8 years, so this day has been a long time coming. There’s a certain comfort that comes with a relationship that long, and it showed throughout the early stages of the day. Neither of them were nervous, just excited and calm, even with the stress of handling last minute decisions and tasks that come with a DIY wedding at home. Even with the comfort of an already long lasting relationship, their love hasn’t faded one bit. You can feel it. It’s even evident in the smallest stolen glances. They’re crazy about each other, and while going through their photos, I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear. They have something truly special, and it was an honor to capture their big day and the joining of these two wonderful families.
