Elisabeth and Gustavo were married this past weekend at Bleue’s on the Water in Glen Burnie. It was an amazing party filled with so much warmth and love.
The Couple
From Elisabeth:
“We met in Miami at a joint birthday party thrown by mutual friends, including my roommate in college at the time and one of his best friend’s. We started talking, hit it off and after that night went out to dinner on our first official date. Soon after, Gustavo left for the summer and was in Brazil for a month and NYC for the rest of the summer, so we didn’t see each other until the end of August. We became boyfriend and girlfriend in September and spent that school year (I had started grad school and he was in his second year of his MBA program at this point) together. That next summer Gustavo moved to New York to start his full time job and I stayed in Miami to finish my grad school. We did long distance for over 2 years.
In the summer of 2015, I graduated from my PT program and after I took my boards in July, Gustavo and I went on a trip to Denmark and Norway, calling the trip our “graduvacation.” On our second night in Copenhagen, he took me out to a very fancy dinner with delicious seafood and wine, and afterwards he suggested we walk by the water instead of going back to our hotel bar for drinks. I had wanted to check out that area of town (he knew this) so I happily agreed. After taking a couple pictures, we were both looking out at the water, and he told me that he “knew we had a lot of things to figure out, but that he knew we would, and he also knew he wanted to be with me…forever.” I turned around to face him and he was holding a diamond ring. I was in complete shock. He asked me to marry him and after a few stunned seconds I said yes! After he got down on one knee, of course!”
The Wedding
Last year Elisabeth and Gustavo invited me up to New York to capture their home at the time. They have since relocated back down this way, so I’m extra glad we had that opportunity. These two are the sweetest people around – it doesn’t surprise me that their families are as sweet and as warm as they are. From the very beginning of arriving on their wedding day, through the very end – everyone made Jeana and I feel so appreciated and so included. It was really such an honor to be around such wonderful people for such a special occasion. Here are just a few of my favorites from their big day.
