Stacy and Ben’s wedding this past weekend was absolutely beautiful and magical! I’m so excited to share highlights on the blog today.
The Couple
Stacy and Ben met in the typical millennial fashion, online. Ben asked Stacy to meet him for a last minute drink the Thursday before Thanksgiving at a local bar. Once Stacy and Ben met they instantly realized they went to the same elementary and middle school (only one year apart) and were so surprised their paths did not cross sooner. Stacy and Ben instantly bonded over their numerous mutual friends and their love of food. Ben did not waste any time and made sure to take Stacy out 3 more times that week.
Ben really sealed the deal when he had Stacy over for dinner and made her homemade raviolis (he rolled the raviolis out by hand). Over the next 5 years Stacy and Ben continued to grow closer, learning about each other’s interests (his: Phish, hers: Taylor Swift) and always supporting each other through the good and the bad.
A year before Stacy and Ben got engaged they welcomed a special 4 legged baby named Charlie into their life who completely changed their dynamic as a couple. Charlie made Stacy and Ben’s bond even stronger as their love for each other poured into Charlie. After a year with Charlie, Ben knew Stacy was the one and made sure to include Charlie when he proposed. Stacy, Ben and Charlie love going on hikes together. Ben told Stacy he wanted to go on a hike in Frederick for his 30th Birthday. Stacy agreed to the hike, thinking this was for Ben’s birthday.
Little did she know this little hike in the Catoctin Mountains turned into a 7 mile hike leading up to a waterfall where Ben proposed. Ben carried a bottle of champagne in a backpack throughout the entire hike and pulled the bottle out once Stacy said yes. Ben then surprised Stacy with a dog friendly Air BnB to spend the night. Frederick is a special place for us, we got engaged there and we will be getting married there.
The Wedding
I have so many moments from Stacy and Ben’s wedding that I absolutely loved, but I have to say my favorite was at the end of their ceremony just when they were pronounced husband and wife, the sun came out from behind a cloud and gave them the most beautiful and epic light for that moment! It only lasted a minute or two and then dipped back behind the clouds for the rest of the evening. It was such a beautiful day celebrating these two, and their adorable fur buddy Charlie! He definitely stole the show. Here are just some of my favorites!
