Casey and Jim‘s wedding this past weekend at Herrington on the Bay was so gorgeous! I’m excited to share the highlights on the blog today.

The Couple

Casey & Jim met fortuitously in late 2019 after orbiting each other’s social circles for more than a decade. It was a Thursday night at a bar called Silks when they first crossed paths. Jim recognized Casey from her Matron of Honor’s Instagram photos over the years. He approached her and struck up a conversation about one of Casey’s favorite topics of discussion, her best friend Rachel.

For the next 6 weeks, they packed in a lot of dates and spent time meeting each other’s friends (of whom there were a lot of mutuals!). Jim invited Casey to go skiing in Colorado with his sister and brother-in-law, and on their first day on the slopes Casey broke her stupid leg! They had known each other for scant more than a month when this unfortunate event happened, but Jim rose to the occasion and became a doting caretaker for Casey for the next 3 months while she recovered from surgery and was on crutches. Casey’s doctor discharged her from her crutches on March 12, 2020. Everyone remembers what happened on that day in history, so we won’t rehash it… but ultimately Casey and Jim were lucky enough to meet and fall in love before the world shut down for “two weeks.”

Jim proposed to Casey on New Year’s Day 2021 in Tulum. Casey was shocked that he brought the ring with him to Mexico (and had left it in his backpack on a bench while they went swimming in a cenote) but she HAPPILY accepted in front of an excited group of fellow tourists, and they have not looked back since.

The Wedding

Casey and Jim’s wedding was such a gorgeous day, celebrating a really sweet love. I loved watching Jim love on Casey all day. It was very clear that they were both having the best day ever, but it just melts my heart when I see a groom who is as captivated by their bride as Jim was with Casey. They truly have a special love and it was an honor to capture the beginning of this new journey for them. Here are some of my favorites.
