Karen and Christian’s wedding this past weekend at Tusculum Farm was definitely a contender for our most fun wedding ever. I’m excited to share the highlights today!

The Couple

“It all started with a simple date. Which ended in Christian leaving because of his kitchen catching fire. Our relationship has been an amazing one though. We have loved each other more and more each day. Even through a life changing injury we made everything work for us. Finding so many things that we both enjoy doing together. After living together for a bit more then 2 1/2 years, Christian finally popped the question to Karen. Getting down on one knee in the house that we had just finished signing the paper work on…….for her to say no. In her defense, she thought he was joking, but as it became clear that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Karen she quickly said yes.”

The Wedding

As a wedding photographer of over a decade, there aren’t many things that surprise me. Through experience, I’ve developed certain expectations, and it’s rare for those expectations to be wrong. When Karen told me their wedding was going to be fewer than 40 people, I expected that it would be a more low-key party. Well, I was wrong, and I could not be happier I was wrong. I love my job, and I have fun every single weekend – but man, this weekend was easily one of the most fun of my career. Especially the 45 minutes I spent with Karen, her sister, and her maid of honor in the bathroom. Literally… you’ll see. Congratulations to Karen and Christian – you are awesome, and this weekend was quite the testament to how awesome!

Congratulations on your big day! You look so handsome my sweet nephew. I’m sure your mom and grandparents were smiling down from heaven. It looked like the weather was awesome and the wedding was perfect just like the love the two of you share. Welcome to the family Karen although you already were my niece in my heart. You were breathtakingly stunning. Enjoy the new chapter of your lives together. I can’t wait to come and see you guys soon. Love you both your Aunt Susan. XOXO
