This past Sunday, Karen and Ricardo were married on a beautiful day at Celebrations at the Bay in Pasadena, MD!

The Couple

From the groom! “We met on a tennis court in 2019. A mutual friend set up a doubles match and that’s how we started to get to know each other. During the pandemic in 2020, we started to play more and more. For Thanksgiving 2020, Karen wanted to visit her best friend in Myrtle Beach, SC and I asked her if I could tag along since I had never been to Myrtle Beach. I got a chance to know Whitney (Karen’s best friend) and see a different side of Karen. A week later, we had our first date at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens to see a Christmas light show. Funny thing, a week after we started dating, I left to go to Mexico for an entire month. That’s been the only time we’ve been apart for a long period of time since we began dating.

“For the engagement, we took a trip to Niagara Falls and then Niagara on the Lake (NOTL). We drove to Niagara Falls and took the Maid of the Mist to get a closer look at the falls. Then, we drove around the coast and stopped to do some sightseeing on the way to Niagara on the Lake. Once we arrived to Niagara on the Lake, we dropped our bags at the Airbnb and went on a stroll. We had dinner and then headed to the bay right before sunset. I wanted to pop the question in a gazebo but there were some people around so I got nervous and decided to keep walking until there was a spot with less people around where I then proposed.

“The most enjoyable part of our relationship is playing tennis together or going to tennis tournaments like the US Open and Laver Cup, or hanging out with our tennis friends which are going to be at least 40% of the guests at our wedding. Another thing we enjoy is building Legos together. We’ve built 13 sets together and counting! We still need to build a few more but we need to get a bigger house first so we can display them all ;).”

The Wedding

Karen and Ricardo’s wedding this past Sunday was the perfect day. The weather was excellent, and since it was Mother’s Day, we had the entire venue to ourselves. We loved spending our day with such a lovely couple, their loving and warm family and friends, and their sweet dog, Chloe! Here are just some of the highlights.
