Julie and Jon were married this past weekend at Gramercy Mansion on a beautiful (and hot) September day! I’m excited to share highlights on the blog today!

The Couple

From the couple: “Jon messaged Julie on OkCupid in fall of 2016, and anyone who has ever attempted to maintain a timely correspondence with Julie will not be shocked to know that our first date wasn’t until January 2017. We met for beers in the East Village, talked all the way through dinner, and six and a half years, five eurovisions, and three cats later, here we are. We were one of those couples where pretty much from the first date, we were in it. And if we needed any extra proof that this was working, we spent the first horrible months of the pandemic in 2020 in Jon’s old single-room studio apartment and barely argued.”

The Wedding

Julie and Jon’s wedding day was SO much fun for us. I already knew I loved them after our time together in Brooklyn a few weeks ago for their engagement session. But what I learned on Saturday was how special their chosen family (and blood family!) is. The takeaway from both my time with Julie’s crew and Jonathan(my fiancé/second photographer, not the groom)’s time with Jon’s crew is that these are true friendships with people who truly see and know each other deeply. And have a blast together. It was an honor to witness and our application to join their friend group will be filled out and filed asap.

As far as the wedding itself goes, there are so many things I loved. From their custom invitations and table numbers featuring illustrations of their cats, to Julie’s magical dress, to their heartfelt and beautifully written vows, there are too many wonderful things to name. Here are just some of my favorites from the best day.
