Stephanie and Joe’s Sagamore Pendry Wedding had everything you could want: an incredible couple, loving families, a gorgeous venue, kickass party, and the cutest and most enthusiastic “Best Dog” around.
The Couple
From the couple:
Depending on who you ask, Joe would say Stephanie was his boss, and Stephanie would immediately say, “No, I was not!” They met at Johns Hopkins Hospital during Joe’s psychiatry rotation, where Stephanie was (and still is) a nurse, in the Summer of 2016. Their interactions were limited as Joe was part of a nursing group in the evenings, and Stephanie primarily worked during the day. In the winter of 2017, Joe did his practicum on the same unit, which is more of a 1:1 focused block of time to see if that’s the area nursing students would like to pursue. There were more interactions during that time, but Stephanie had just gotten out of a serious relationship, and Joe was dating someone else. Joe was ultimately hired in the Summer of 2017, and they developed a working relationship that blossomed into a friendship toward the winter of 2018. Both were single, and by the spring, after multiple quasi-dates at Fell’s Point bars, they realized their mutual attraction and started dating in the spring of 2018. The rest is history!
It’s wild to think they’ve been together for almost 7 years (though it feels like 2 of those years don’t count because of the pandemic). During that time, they got a dog named Wrigley, survived the pandemic, attended multiple family and friend events, bought a house, and got engaged during their Christmas trip to NYC on 12/8/24. Stephanie has always loved the Brooklyn Bridge, and they walk across it every year. On the morning of the 8th, after a late breakfast, Stephanie suggested taking their yearly walk. Just before reaching the first upright walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan, they stopped to take a picture, and Joe proposed. It was just the two of them, no bended knee or anything that would draw attention (Stephanie’s nightmare), and it was perfect. Wedding planning started shortly after the new year, and they decided to get married on 2/15/25, which would have been Stephanie’s maternal grandparents’ 80th wedding anniversary (it’s not because they like Valentine’s Day – haha).
The Wedding
Stephanie and Joe’s wedding was an absolute blast from start to finish! Despite the rainy weather, it didn’t matter one bit—because the Pendry was absolutely stunning, and we got to capture some incredible photos inside, and magical rainy shots outside after dark!
The day was made even more special by the amazing group of family and friends surrounding them. There were so many heartwarming moments—whether it was quiet exchanges between family members or joyful laughter echoing through the room. And let’s not forget the puppy snuggles! Wrigley, you were a highlight of the day (we love you!).
Once the party got started, it was nothing short of epic. The energy was electric, the dance floor was packed, and the celebration didn’t slow down until the lights came up. It was such an honor to witness and capture such a beautiful, love-filled day.
