Carla + Nick | National Museum of Women in the Arts Wedding

August 7, 2013 Carla + Nick | National Museum of Women in the Arts Wedding

Carla and Nick were a last-minute 2013 booking. As you look through this post, you will see that there’s nothing about this wedding that looks last minute. Every last detail was beautiful and flawlessly executed. What had happened, was that their original photographer became unavailable on their wedding day with only 2 weeks to go! I was so happy that I was available to step in and take her place! When I met Carla a week and a half before her wedding, I loved her right away. She’s so sweet and so cute and was definitely my kind of bride! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to meet Nick until the actual wedding day, but he’s so sweet as well and his love for Carla shines through. It was such an honor to be a part of such a beautiful day!

I had Kate from Kate Ann Photography along with me second shooting for the day! She did an amazing job!

I started the day off with Carla and the girls and Kate started off with Nick and the guys!

I love her dress and the custom straps she bought and had added to it! So pretty!

Carla made such a stunning bride!

See? Stunning.

The couple was wed at Holy Rosary Church in DC, and it was such a beautiful location!

The aisles were lined with photos of the bride and groom (on each of their respective sides) throughout their lives.

Just look at how happy Nick is! Love it!

I don’t normally show family portraits on the blog, but the church was so pretty I wanted to share at least one :)

We went to the park both before and after the ceremony. The joined bridal party pictures were afterwards, and the groomsmen were shot by Kate beforehand and the bridesmaids by me beforehand.

Carla is very close with her two sisters and I loved their relationship!

While Kate was photographing the guys there were a few photobombs… at least the guys seemed to be having fun with it!

While I was with Carla, Nick and the bridal party back at the park, Kate went ahead to the museum to get some photos of the details and the set up. Most of these photos are hers.

I could extend this post forever just showing off the gorgeous details, but I’ll save you all the scrolling ;)

The bride and groom had such a beautiful entrance coming down the staircase and went into a spectacularly choreographed first dance!

And they nailed it.

After dinner we had the parent dances, and then it was time to PARTY!

This was my first time working with Jason Wallace and let’s just say, I would be okay if he DJed every wedding I worked. It was a blast and I can’t wait to work with him again for Kelly and Theo’s wedding later this year!

Carla and Nick, I am so glad you guys found me and I was able to work with you on your amazing wedding day! I can’t wait to see you again and wish you both all the best!
