Rebecca and Ryan were married this past weekend at The Box House Hotel in Brooklyn, NY in one of the most beautiful and special weddings we’ve ever been a part of!

Before The Wedding

About a week before their wedding, Rebecca texted me so we could devise a backup plan in case of rain. We had ultimately hoped it would be light enough (or we’d miss it completely) that we could still get outdoor shots at Gantry Plaza with a gorgeous Manhattan skyline view. Little did we know that the worry about the rain would end up feeling trivial.

Two days before the wedding I got another text from Rebecca. This time informing me that her dad was in the hospital and may not be able to make it to the wedding. If he wasn’t able to get discharged in time, they’d decided to get married at the hospital the morning of the wedding. Thankfully, he got discharged just in time, and was able to be a part of the day. I think it put it into perspective for literally all of us: what matters more than anything, is family.

The Big Day

From the moment we arrived, we felt so comfortable and at home with Ryan, Rebecca, and their families. This was such a beautiful, loving, warm celebration of two beautiful people and the life they’ve created together. It rained. A lot, actually. And we made the most of it. I love the shots we got outside where you can see just how crazy rainy it was. It adds a unique magic to it… during daylight and after dark! We also got to take photos all around the hotel, making some really creative portraits for them that might not have happened if we had made it to the park.

Everything about the night was perfect – the incredible food, the amazing band, the wonderful heartfelt speeches, and the time spent with family and friends. Here are just some of my favorites from Rebecca and Ryan’s wedding!
