This is a very special blog post.
Many of you may recognize Brooke. Our right hand gal, keeper of the snacks, gusher over gorgeous brides. She’s been assisting us on weddings for two years, and has not only become an integral part of our work family, but also one of my closest friends. Needless to say, I was over the moon excited when Brian proposed to her late last year. Even more so, when she asked me to shoot their wedding next summer. Brian and Brooke have been together for seven years, since they were essentially babies. And yet their love is so deep and mature and loving. It’s the kind of love that many think only exists in fiction. But I’ve seen it. It’s real.
This July, I got a call from Brooke. She’s very close with her Gram, and she hadn’t been doing well for a while. She wanted to share her wedding with her grandma. So she called me to ask me if I thought she was crazy… because they were thinking of getting married at Gram’s house that weekend.
My next questions where “when and where?” because not being there wasn’t an option.
I love these two so much. I loved this wedding so much. I loved meeting Gram and seeing how much she and Brooke adore each other. I loved watching Gram watch as Brooke and Brian said their heartfelt vows. And I loved being there to capture it all.
Unfortunately earlier this week, Gram passed away. I’m so thankful I got to meet this beautiful woman who helped shape the person I love so much. And I’m thankful that she got to see the start of their marriage.
Aaaand now I’m crying. What a beautiful day for such beautiful souls; brilliantly captured.
Such a beautiful and thoughtful ceremony to share with Grandma Pat!! So much Love and emotion, Congrats to the lovely couple!
Congrats Brooke! I’m so glad you got to share this special moment with your Gram. You were beautiful and the happiness is evident. Mazel Tov!
