This weekend we had our first weddings of 2024, and I am so excited to have kicked off the year with Haleigh and Nick’s wedding reception at Union Mills Public House in Frederick, MD!
The Couple
From the couple: “We were so immersed in conversation on our first date, that we hadn’t realized we had been sitting there chatting for over 3 hours. I (Haleigh) also decided at the end of our date to give Nick a little peck before we departed and once he got home he told me he couldn’t stop smiling the whole drive because I had made the first move.
“Our engagement was at Brookside Gardens. I unfortunately kinda knew he was gonna propose, but it was still very romantic. He had prepared a bunch of things to say to me from memory before he proposed. Even though we were in a semi-secluded spot, a bunch of people ended up seeing from a far away pavilion and were cheering and clapping for us. It was very cute, despite us having walked around this garden for over an hour in 90-degree heat before he proposed (lol). Our wedding was just the two of us and a photographer local to the area in western Maryland. Where we prepared very personal vows for only the two of us to hear, as we were standing right next to a waterfall during the ceremony. As of recently, we are very much enjoying married life in our new home in Saint Paul, MN. Happy to make home wherever we both can be together.”
The (Wedding) Party!
Haleigh and Nick are already married, as they got married last year at a beautiful waterfall in Western MD. This year, one day shy of their one year anniversary, they got to celebrate with all of their favorite people! They have the most fun friends and an awesome family, making this party a complete blast to be a part of and capture. Nick’s groomsmen gave one of the longer speeches I’ve seen – which is usually *not* a good thing… But in this case it was SO heartfelt and special as well as hilarious, it was absolutely perfect. This was an awesome celebration and an excellent way to kick off the rest of their lives together.
