Meet Mark and TJ. Never have I ever known two people more suited for each other. Even just spending 5 minutes with them is like being in a witty comedy. Their life is filled with laughter, quick-witted jabs, and a little bit of snark. Okay, maybe a lot a bit of snark. It’s quite fun to watch. The one thing that never is lacking is the love. Mark has been one of my best friends since 2008, and they’ve both been a part of my life that long. We go through phases, as many friends do, where we see each other more often some times than others, but I know I can always rely on Mark to be there if I need him.
Mark started talking to me about wanting to propose to TJ so long ago I don’t even remember when. We’d talk about possible ideas of how it would happen, and what a wedding might look like. Then one day I get a text asking if Mark can have something shipped to my house. I knew right away what it would be and might have squealed out loud! Unfortunately I couldn’t be there the day of the actual proposal, but they had several friends capture video on their phones and borrowed our GoPro to capture it as well. Mark arranged for many of their close friends and family to come to a Starbucks where he was going to take TJ, and everyone would come with a balloon. The more ridiculous and random the balloon, the better. Each person came in one at a time, and gave TJ a balloon along with a note. The last person to walk in was Mark, with his balloons, and a ring. Summed up on their Facebook album with photos from the proposal it says “Mark, after many years, decided to put a ring on it on June 4, 2014. TJ, somewhat begrudgingly, said yes. Either way, they’ll hopefully live happily ever after if they don’t kill each other.”
Meet my lovely friends, Mark and TJ:
Yep, the cutest.
I love their matching rings! Titanium with a silver inlay.
Engraved with their initials. TJ’s saying “Always” and Mark’s, “Forever”.
Yep. Obsessed.
Favorites!
I’m so glad we got a good sunset!
I just want to squeeze them!
We sat in the barn talking and waiting for the sun to go down some more to get some final night shots. While we were waiting, TJ was standing by the doorway, looking out at the sunset and I loved how the light fell on his face. This is a bit of a departure from my normal style, but I just love how this one turned out, it’s probably my favorite from the session.
Mark + TJ, I love you guys and I’m so happy for you to start this new chapter of your lives together. xoxo, Brea
A little message from Mark:
Hey friends and family! This is Mark!
I want to thank everyone for the immense amount of love and support we’ve gotten over the years. As a lot of you know, TJ and I have been together for what seems like an eternity. We want to make this wedding happen and we want it to happen right. We don’t want some huge, elaborate festivity, but we do want it to be memorable and be the day we always remember. At this point, it’s really tough getting the money to make it all, or any of it, happen. We don’t need or want a traditional registry, but if you could help contribute to our Honeyfund, it would really mean the world to us and it could make things like a professional photographer and food actually happen.
Thank you so much, and we love each and every one of you.

Yowsers. These are AWESOME!! I love everything about these. They look so natural together and comfortable in front of the camera, and the sunset and your lighting are perfect! Way to nail it!
Brea these are stunning! I loved everything about it – from their perfectly coordinated style to your awesome posing, the ring styling, and sunset pictures. What lovely memories for them to treasure!
Really, really beautiful session Brea! Love the landscape photos – just gorgeous! And I adore their rings :)
I wan to say ever cliche word I possibly can like “I can’t even,” “swoon,” “stunning!,” etc. Even though that is so not me – they are all so true!! I am so obsessed with that first imagine. That would be on my walls for sure if I were them, and those night shots!!! They are all awesome, chica!
I love these!! Such genuine moments (oh, and fantastic clothes – that polka dot sweater!!). Plus, you know I love this location!! Such a beautiful session!!
