2021 Annual Recap

Man. 2020 was weird. 2021 was also weird. It felt like we were almost back to normal in the wedding world, but also… very not. We photographed our usual 35 full day weddings that are typically pretty well spaced out from March – December. But because 2021 was still not “normal” and vaccine roll out was uncertain when people were making decisions about spring weddings, the vast majority of those were crammed into the back half of the year. With two years of engagement sessions on top of that.

To say we’re exhausted would be an understatement. But it’s a good exhausted. Filled to the brim with love, exhausted. Looking back on this year’s weddings there’s a huge sense of accomplishment, because we MADE IT, but I also get emotional because there are so many people in this post I’ve grown to love.

We made it!

So many of the people featured in this post have been a part of my world for more than two years. We’ve been through covid together. We’ve been through reschedulings on top of reschedulings together. And for several of these couples, this year I got to photograph them getting married a second time, to the same person. We’ve been through A LOT. This year the recap post just hits differently because we went through so much to get here.

My photos speak for how much I love my job better than I ever can. Thank you for another year of trusting me to shoot from the heart and capture your lives. Here’s to a healthy and successful 2022.

Big big big shout out to Jim, Jonathan, Tommy (each of whom have a photo or two featured in this post), Brooke, Courtney, and all of the other lovely people that helped to make this year so wonderful. I feel so fortunate to be able to work a job I truly love with the best of friends.

Without further ado, way, way, way too many photos from 2021:

And now I’m gonna go pass out like this girl did… We’ll be back in just two weeks, 2022 starts off strong with a busy winter, and I can’t wait <3

My favorite thing about looking through our yearly recap posts is that they are NEVER the same. I hope you enjoyed scrolling through way too many photos, but if you’d like to scroll through even more, here are the links to our recaps from 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016. All very moment driven, dynamic, and full of personality.
