Best of 2020 | Baltimore Wedding Photography | Love in a Pandemic

December 28, 2020 Best of 2020 | Baltimore Wedding Photography | Love in a Pandemic

Since I started shooting weddings in 2012, I’ve been doing an annual recap post and it’s always one of my favorites. I love to look back and see my favorite images all curated in one place. Reliving all of the beautiful moments we’ve been able to witness throughout the year and being able to see my growth as a photographer year to year – it’s one of my favorite things to do.

(Here are the posts from 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 to see the last few years of recaps!)

This year this post is a little different. And that’s because this year was more than just a little different. We started the year with 35 weddings booked. We photographed 20. (I am now a professional rescheduler.) Of those 20, most couples had to get creative. Some couples have rescheduled three times. Some were smaller ceremonies for people we’ll be partying with next year for their big, more traditional celebration. Many required testing, quarantine and masking of their guests to keep everyone safe. Others reimagined their original plans entirely and ended up with something completely different – but beautiful and unique and no less special.

We are resilient. Love will always find a way. And it was such an honor to capture so much love in a year where we needed it so badly.

So rather than this post just being a best of post, it’s also a celebration of love in a tough, strange time. You’ll see backyard weddings, park elopements, a DC rooftop celebration, a sweet wedding ceremony in Gram’s living room, a picnic wedding, lots of plan B’s and more. This year’s engagement sessions were also very different, being restricted to outdoor locations, but also lacked no love or creativity.

Here is our selection of favorites from all of our weddings and sessions this year to get a taste of just how special and unique 2020 was.

(Shout out to Tommy, Brooke, Jim, Jena and Courtney for all the help this year. This job wouldn’t be as amazing without the best of friends on my team!)
